This article describes partner machines known in Network Mode. <br>For information more specific to Story and Extra Modes, see partner machines (offline).

Partner Machineries (パートナーマシナリー), or PMs (パシリ) for short, are floating pet robots, and can be found in the player's room. In Story Mode, Ethan's PM is called 'Pete', but in Extra Mode and Network Mode players are able to choose and change their PM's names. A PM's Luck is equal to that of Female Cast characters.

Description
A partner machine, often abbreviated as PM, is a support machine assigned to each Guardian. A PM can be found in each player's room.

Item Storage
PMs start with 300 inventory slots. Each Nanotranser X adds 50 extra inventory slots to your PM. Up to four devices can be used, thus increasing your PM's storage by 200 items.

Battle Stat. (B St)
 +

 +
B St is raised through the completion of missions with the partner machine in the party. The mission's length and difficulty do not matter - the only determining factor is the rank achieved at the end of the mission:

Production level
 +
Striking, ranged, TECH and armor are raised through the use of the Give item function. Select Give item from the P Machinery Function menu to show a list of items which the PM can consume. Each consumed item will raise and/or lower synthesis stats by a number of points. One hundred points becomes one production level. Production level cannot be lowered without resetting the PM. There is a limit to the number of items a PM can consume at one time:

To increase those first four attributes, PMs can be given 100 items before becoming 'full', after which it will take 12 hours before they could be fed again. They refuse to eat Synthesis Boards, Grinders and Presents. When the Production Level reaches a designated point, the PM will "evolve" into a new form that varies according to the individual attributes that contribute to the Production Level. These distinct PM evolutions each specialize either in Striking, Range or Technic; there are none that specialize in Armor. Battle-usable evolutions have associated combat behaviour and equipment. Not much is known about their combat stats, other than that they are dependent on the PM's form and Combat Level.
+
* If you feed a PM one item, its "fed" count raises by 1.
 +
* Once a PM's "fed" count reaches 100 it becomes "full" and cannot be fed.
 +
* If a PM has not been fed for 12 hours ("full" or not), its "fed" count resets to 0.

Only the leader of a party may summon his or her battle-usable PM to combat. The PM is capable of taking damage and dying like any ordinary player as well as reducing final trial rewards through death. PMs affect experience gain in combat in the same way ordinary players do. The PM has no means of healing itself outside of Force spells, area affect items and returning to town. Battle-usable PM's have the luck score of a female cast.
+
PMs will not accept synthesis boards, Grinders or Presents.

The item PM Device ZERO is used to reset each of the PM's stats to zero. Although the PM will reset it's level and any advanced form will be lost, the storage remains unaffected.
+
When the production level reaches twenty, fifty or eighty, the PM will evolve into a new form that varies according to the individual synthesis statistics. These distinct PM evolutions will be proficient at certain forms of item synthesis: striking, ranged or TECHNIC weapons, or line shields, and these given specializations will receive an increase in the success rate of that type of synthesis.

+
The item PM Device ZERO is used to reset a partner machine: All of its statistics regress to 0 and it reverts to the model GH 101. However, items held in its storage, inserted synthesis boards and any item synthesis that has yet to complete will remain untouched. PM Device ZERO is subject to the same conditions as other items given to a PM (it adds to the amount it has been "fed", and cannot be used if it is "full").

Partner machines in combat
 +

 +
When PMs evolve to their fourth stage, they will grant their owner their own Partner Card, allowing them to be added to the party as partner characters.
 +

 +
PMs have combat behavior and equipment based on each model. See each partner machine's article for more specific information. A partner machine's production level and its components (Striking, Ranged, TECH, Armor) do not have any effect in battle. Their character level is 10 higher than their owner's.
 +

 +
As with all partner characters, only a party leader can call their partner machines into a party. Similarly, the PM is capable of taking damage, being incapacitated and self-reviving. They affect combat in the same way ordinary partner characters do. When in a party, PMs have the Photon Fortune of a CAST (female for GH 41X-46X, male for GH 470 and GH 480). However, since they cannot be the leader of a party, this doesn't affect the game in any way whatsoever.
 +

 +
Evolutions
 +

 +
The three digits after the GH prefix refer to a PM's stage, series, and model, in that order. All PMs of the same series and same model are the same. For example, all GH 420s made from PM Device GH420s, EX Devices GH420s, GH 301s, or GH 302s, are the exact same GH 420.
 +

 +
PMs fed an upgrade device will change models. All evolution devices require a fourth stage PM, production level of eighty.
 +

 +
Partner machine upgrade devices have a series requirement. A PM Device GH4yx will work on any PM in the y series, not allowing a PM to change series.
 +

 +
Partner machine extra upgrade devices have a B St requirement. A EX Device GH4yx will work on any PM with enough B St, allowing a PM to change series.
 +

 +
Partner machines will not accept devices to become themselves. A GH 4yx cannot be fed an EX Device GH4yx or PM Device GH4yx.

Fourth-Stage PMs
+
{| class="wikitable"
 +
! Model !! Syn. Trend !! Combat behavior !!width="128"| Description !! Weapons and photon arts !! Extra unit

When PMs evolve to their fourth stage, they will become usable in battle and will grant their owner their own Partner Card to call upon them at anytime. In any party only the PM of the leader may participate. Like NPCs, PMs will automatically revive in a minute, but unfortunately their deaths affects Mission results nonetheless. In battle, a PM is always ten levels higher than their ownerAs this increases, they will become more powerful like regular characters would. A PM's Production Level and Striking, Ranged, Armor and Technic stats do not have any influence on this.

; With owner

*According to my experiences with a GH-410, the PM will stay by your side untill a enemy is withing its striking distance..Great for shielding because if the enemy approaches you, your PM will fight it..

Currently Unobtainable PMs
There are currently 28 unattainable PM evolutions, linked to 'PM Evolution Devices'. For example, using a 'PM 411 Device' on a GH410 will evolve the PM into the corresponding evolution. It is unclear whether one would need multiple devices to obtain, say, a GH412. Details about GH305~7 and GH461~5 are still unclear.

This article describes partner machines known in Network Mode.
For information more specific to Story and Extra Modes, see partner machines (offline).

Description

A partner machine, often abbreviated as PM, is a support machine assigned to each Guardian. A PM can be found in each player's room.

PMs have several functions, including:

Statistics

Stat Name Effect
Striking Used in synthesizing Striking weapons.
Ranged Used in synthesizing Ranged weapons.
TECH Used in synthesizing TECHNIC weapons.
Armor Used in synthesizing line shields.
Production Level The sum of the four stats above, caps at 100.
PM evolution occurs as this rises.
Battle Stat (B St) A PM's efficiency in combat, caps at 200.
A requirement for EX Evolution Devices.

Item Storage

PMs start with 300 inventory slots. Each Nanotranser X adds 50 extra inventory slots to your PM. Up to four devices can be used, thus increasing your PM's storage by 200 items.

Battle Stat. (B St)

B St is raised through the completion of missions with the partner machine in the party. The mission's length and difficulty do not matter - the only determining factor is the rank achieved at the end of the mission:

Completion Rank  % of a B St level raised
S 24%
A ~15%
B ~10%
C ~5%

Production level

Striking, ranged, TECH and armor are raised through the use of the Give item function. Select Give item from the P Machinery Function menu to show a list of items which the PM can consume. Each consumed item will raise and/or lower synthesis stats by a number of points. One hundred points becomes one production level. Production level cannot be lowered without resetting the PM. There is a limit to the number of items a PM can consume at one time:

 • If you feed a PM one item, its "fed" count raises by 1.
 • Once a PM's "fed" count reaches 100 it becomes "full" and cannot be fed.
 • If a PM has not been fed for 12 hours ("full" or not), its "fed" count resets to 0.

PMs will not accept synthesis boards, Grinders or Presents.

When PMs evolve to their fourth stage, they will grant their owner their own Partner Card, allowing them to be added to the party as partner characters.

PMs have combat behavior and equipment based on each model. See each partner machine's article for more specific information. A partner machine's production level and its components (Striking, Ranged, TECH, Armor) do not have any effect in battle. Their character level is 10 higher than their owner's.

Evolutions

The three digits after the GH prefix refer to a PM's stage, series, and model, in that order. All PMs of the same series and same model are the same. For example, all GH 420s made from PM Device GH420s, EX Devices GH420s, GH 301s, or GH 302s, are the exact same GH 420.

PMs fed an upgrade device will change models. All evolution devices require a fourth stage PM, production level of eighty.

Partner machine upgrade devices have a series requirement. A PM Device GH4yx will work on any PM in the y series, not allowing a PM to change series.

Partner machine extra upgrade devices have a B St requirement. A EX Device GH4yx will work on any PM with enough B St, allowing a PM to change series.

Partner machines will not accept devices to become themselves. A GH 4yx cannot be fed an EX Device GH4yx or PM Device GH4yx.
