Mission details
* This mission allows you to further enhance the abilities of your character by using the customization system known as GUARDIANS advanced style. Under this system, you can purchase a wide variety of character enhancements by using advanced points (AP).

* AP -- essentially the the currency used for this mission -- are special levels that can be earned by accumulating advanced experience points (AEXP) whereby every 500,000 AEXP earned equals 1 AP.  There are two methods of earning AEXP.

# If your character is at the current level cap, all EXP earned from defeating enemies is collected as AEXP.

# Even if you are not at the level cap, you can earn AEXP by playing GUARDIANS advanced missions.  All enemies in these missions give AEXP when defeated.

* The total amount of unused AP you can have on your character at one time is limited to 10 AP, however a future update will raise this cap to 20 AP. Upon reaching the AP level cap, the game will continue to tally AEXP until you reach 499,999 AEXP. At this point, you cannot earn more AEXP until at least 1 AP is spent.

* There are two main customization categories available which are further broken down into their own unique subcategories.  For detailed information regarding a specific category, please use the table of contents at the top of the page to jump directly to a desired section.

* In the charts below, items in blue represent customization options that will be released at a later date.  Please reference this list for details on customization option release order based on the Japanese PC/PS2 release.

Type customizations
Type customizations allow you to modify the abilities of your battle type, giving you the power to further enhance your strong points or even bolster your shortcomings. With the exception of the basic types (Hunter, Ranger and Force), all types can be customized with this system.  Keep in mind that these customizations are type-bound, so acquired customizations will not be shared between types. For example, if you have upgraded Fortegunner with Accuracy+ and then decide to switch to Gunmaster, the ATA enhancement acquired as a Fortegunner will not carry over to your new type.  Instead, you must purchase new customizations specifically for your new type.  However, if you decide to become a Fortegunner again, the ATA customization you purchased as that type will remain in effect.

There are four divisions of type customizations:  base abilities, special abilities, weapon proficiencies and attribute proficiencies.  The total number of customizations you can have from each division is limited by your character's race, as illustrated by the following chart.  (Blue cells represent future increases to the ability caps.  Initially, only data in the white cells will apply.)

When upgrading type customizations, remember that each level increased on a single ability counts against your race's ability cap.  For example, if your base ability cap is eight, raising Base ATP+ to LV5 will use five points, leaving you only three points for further customization.  Furthermore, if you reach your race's ability cap, you can remove acquired customizations to free up space for new upgrades.  However, the AP spent on a reverted customization will not be returned to you.  Be sure to carefully consider and plan out the customizations for your type!

Style customizations
+
Eighth wave
Style customizations are all-around upgrades that, unlike Type customizations, are bound to your character instead of your character's battle type. These upgrades are divided into three groups: Weapon, Shield and Extra Styles. While there are no limits to the number of style customizations you can purchase, you can use only one of each category at a time.  By purchasing multiple styles in the same category, you can switch between those styles at no additional AP cost by accessing this mission.

You're dead wrong about reverting my edit about caps are by class, no where in your article is that covered, in fact your entire write up makes it sound like the caps are race based. They aren't. but leave it its fine the people i needed to have know it already read it before you reverted it. If it's not clear for everyone else oh well Jed sisko 01:12, 26 June 2011 (EDT)
