Gameplay
Gameplay wise, Phantasy Star Universe plays very much like it's predeccesor Phantasy star online
Combat
In Combat, you will be able to do 3 things in order to cause Damage to Monsters
These are:
- A Simple attack. This is the fastest attack, and does little damage. It's Effect depends on what weapon you are using; For example, if you were using a handgun, This would quickly fire off a shot doing little damage
- A Hard attack. These, While looking exactly the same as simple attacks, are slower (they Charge then swipe/shoot) but much more powerful
- A Special attack. The Availability of this depends on if your weapon has a special attack on it. These normally have the same animation as simple / hard attacks but instead have an Attribute (ie: fire) associated with them
By timing, if you repeat the above you can start Combo attacks. The advantage of this is not only that your attack will be fluid, faster, and hit more, but that if you chain it (Ie: Simple, hard, hard), the Hard attacks will have a better chance of hitting
Techniques
Techniques are "magic" attacks, normally Associated with elements. They are Equipped then used (at the cost of TP), And cause good damage. However, Unlike normal attacks, you cannot chain them, and they cannot strike critical hits
Online
When you are Online, you will be transported to a lobby area, where other online players go to. Here you can Chat, Meet friends and organise Games
