New Talk

Just to make sure - I'm guessing this exists on the English servers now. - Miraglyth 10:17, 30 August 2008 (CDT)

On another note, it doesn't seem as though there's been a decision regarding spoilers yet. Considering this is a wiki, wording such as "The content of this scene changes slightly depending on your grade." which (I understand) results in different scenes depending on whether you got a B, A or S, seems quite vague. - Miraglyth 10:17, 30 August 2008 (CDT)

  • There's a lot of updating that needs to be done with this page. Hopefully soon I'll get around to messing with it again. I kind of stopped before, because I'd spoiled so many things for myself from reading JP wiki's article on it, and didn't want to make things worse for myself. (Granted, having now played the story missions, there were still some surprises thrown in that weren't mentioned on the wiki, so that was cool.) Also, I need to go back and play through the first missions so I can get more details on the alternate paths. - EspioKaos 14:41, 30 August 2008 (CDT)

Old Talk

  • Needs more episode numbers over names for the sake of clarity. D: Maybe just putting the names in the wiki inter-links while using more numbers for readability? EP3 ch5 act1, EP3 5-1, 3-5-1-, EP3 mission 5 part 1, anything. I dunno if this is just me because I've been so alienated from the game, but since you're also supposed to backtrack to old missions for the sub-plot, I think this would make things more clear. - Tycho 17:58, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
    • There we go. Changed things over to stuff like EP3 Ch.4-2. I think it looks pretty nice. :) - EspioKaos 20:14, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
      • Is there any reason to not leave both the name and numeric notation in there? And maybe cut out a couple of the spoilers? - Sekani 20:26, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
        • Having the chapter name mixed with the numeric notation might be too much. But I guess it kind of depends on how it's presented. EP3 Ch.3-2: Will of Light, EP3 Ch.3: Will of Light 2, etc. Did you have any specifics in mind? On the spoilers, I was thinking of doing a new spoiler tag to stick at the top of the page. I'm sure I could also do some rewording to cover up a few plot points. - EspioKaos 21:41, 7 April 2008 (CDT)

A few things to say about this article myself:

  • To my knowledge the game has used both "EP" and "Ch." so the notation currently being used is perfect. I suspect this was a result of Espio knowing this too though!
  • Once or twice we've mentioned trying to get a "Spoiler, click to view" style button in. I can't remember how those concluded but this (and a couple parts of Episode 2, one of which I ended up using a simple highlight-to-see method for) would be one of the places that could make use of it.
  • Regardless of that, this article could perhaps use a generic "Spoiler article" infobox the same way we have existing Guide and April Fools boxes (though the image of the latter wasn't terribly relevant :P)
    • Edit: Oh, yeah. Would it also be an idea to have a "Future content" box? "This article is about a game element that will become available in the future", the same way we once had boxes that read "This will be available to AOTI."
  • On the subject of the article itself: This is very interesting stuff to me. I wonder if this subplot system will be used to prevent screwing people out of things PSO-style, or if it's just a more elaborate way of doing it. Clearly I hope for the former :P if the subplots aren't repeatable then that's already a recipe for disaster, for example. - Miraglyth 07:13, 8 April 2008 (CDT)
  • So far it looks like there's no choosing in the plot yet, which would be great. Anyway, a 'future content' template seems good, but.. a spoiler one? Wouldn't it be pretty obvious that visiting a plot-related article on a game wiki might contain info about the game? So far it still seems pretty modest actually. >_> - Tycho 11:10, 8 April 2008 (CDT)
  • On Sekani's changes: that works for me. Honestly, any of the three ways we've used will be fine with me. - EspioKaos 15:07, 8 April 2008 (CDT)

Ambition's End Subplot Not Required for Photon Harvest's and Beyond?

I've been trying to get Orson Waber's partner card and was confounded as to why the proper scenes wouldn't trigger in A Brighter Day 2. So, after some other attempts at other chapters, I went back and did Ambition's End 2 again and... didn't trigger a better ending despite getting Rank S. I suspect now that I haven't completed Farewell to Mother with Lou yet.

The strange thing about this though is that I definitely have Karen Erra's partner card, which means I definitely got Photon Harvest 1's extra scene with her and Ethan out of the way. I suppose then that "Watch the new event that follows Howzer at the end of Ambition's End 2" is false then? It seems that way, but I'm hesitant to make the edit without being absolutely certain. I suspect that I'm unable to trigger the alternate path with Lumia at the end of Road to Rykros, either.

I'll experiment a bit more and get back to everyone on this. - AngelusInsomnus 02:47, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

  • All right, I've removed the bit about Ambition's End for Photon Harvest which I've confirmed to be false, but, I strongly suspect that it does have some added requirement above and beyond just a grade of S in the trial, so I substituted in the conversation in Will of Light 2 and added that old "unconfirmed" marker to it for now since I'm just sure at all what the requirement is (just what it's definitely not).

In addition, I've made numerous revisions to the page in general, added several notes, rewrote some bits for clarity and accuracy... hopefully. Tried to be "thorough" but I might have ended up going a bit overboard, perhaps. - AngelusInsomnus 17:21, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
    • I must have missed something on the 360 side. I was going back to do subplot 2 of Road to Rykros there, but it didn't trigger. I was trying to figure out if I was missing anything and noticed I actually didn't have Karen's card. I went back to Photon Harvest and wasn't able to trigger either subplot there. I suppose I'll keep backtracking and see if I didn't see the alternate end for Will of Light 2 (Ambition's End 2 too I guess?). Still, the second subplot for Photon Harvest should have triggered right? --S-T-H 05:50, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
    • Well, the new stuff definitely didn't appear for Ambition's End. I suppose I'll look into Will of Light 2 next and see how much that might affect. I'll have to see about Photon Harvest subplot 2 along the way. --S-T-H 07:17, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
    • Just to make sure, I noted that I didn't have anything for Lou in Farewell to Mother. I figure I may have only done the stuff for Tylor and Liina's card on Episode 3 on this character (of course having covered everything in Episode 2). I figure I'll do the stuff for Will of Light and avoid Farewell to Mother until I can see how much the former covers (perhaps hoping that the opposite situation isn't more efficient). It might also be an idea to check the EP3 Append Book though (as subplot info seemed to be a particular bulletpoint for it). --S-T-H 08:13, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
    • Will of Light's subplot does appear to be the specific requirement for Photon Harvest subplot 1. In addition, I skipped the first subplot to check if the same was true for the second. Going back, it looks like you do actually complete that subplot first before you can do the second. It makes sense considering the story presented in it. --S-T-H 02:25, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
    • The mention of a 'memory event' seems a bit vague to me in regards to Innocent Girl. The run I'm referring to is of course the one in which Vivienne is rather silent during what I'm pretty sure was a forced introduction, following with silence during the run, and then ending with Dr. Arl explaining her future. This page and the guide make it seem like the...event was already supposed to happen, however this doesn't appear to be the case. After checking with PSU-wiki, they seem to now just refer to it as meddling in the fourth stage of her development (which essentially matches up). Another thing that seems odd to me is the mention that the conversation with Lou will change on new runs. That and the minor changes with Ambition's End I'm still not quite sure on. --S-T-H 01:58, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
