One's Character Level (or just level for short) is a Character property that is unrelated to one's Class (unlike one's Class Level), and is based solely on one's Experience Points - obtained by killing Monsters. A higher level will result in higher base statistics, which in turn could make a character capable of wielding more powerful Weapons and Armors. Higher Mission Ranks have a Character Level requirement too. Certain other things, such as Blast Badges and SUV-Weapon Units also have their own Character Level requirements. The maximum level a character could attain (more colloquially, the 'level cap') is currently unknown. All player characters start out at level one.
