JP Magazine Scans
- Came across this and this while browsing the JP image uploader. Since I can't really read Japanese bar katakana I have no idea if this stuff is new info or not, so you might want to look over it if you haven't done so already. If you have, disregard this. - Mewn 22:26, 9 September 2007 (BST)
- Hmm, most of it seems to be stuff we already knew about, but in some cases with a little new tidbit thrown in for good measure. For example, it mentions that no new blast badges will be added with Illuminus, however positive status effects will remain on a player during nanoblast (and SUV summoning, for that matter). So this we already knew. It goes on to say that during a nanoblast, beasts will not be susceptible to negative status effects. It's odd that they mention that, because I thought it was that way right now. I think incapacitation is all that can get you, but... the article doesn't point that one out specifically. It just says "enemy-inflicted abnormal status effects." One very interesting thing that is mentioned in the second article is that it's being considered that Protransers may gain the ability to see traps without goggles. Other things the articles go into include changing the drop system around to allow for random elemental attributes on dropped weapons and also a reminder that your personal nanotransformer's space will not be increased, but that you'll be able to increase your PM's space and transport items from your inventory in the lobbies back to your room. So, I guess the only new thing was the Protranser bit. But, it's very interesting. Thanks for pointing these out to me! :) EspioKaos 05:08, 10 September 2007 (BST)
Room Decoration pages
- I noticed that you started some work on the room decos (by the by, I'd like to thank you for the work you've been doing recently) - if you need images, I have images of pretty much every room decoration in the game on my file dump here. - Mewn 19:09, 19 August 2007 (BST)
- My pleasure. :) I'd forgotten about those! Thanks! I'll be able to put them to good use. ;) EspioKaos 21:23, 19 August 2007 (BST)
Throwing Blades / Cards
- Wait, what? The game actually calls them under the unified name "throwing blades" in the English version. "Cards" is only used in JP. They were thus standardised as TBs on PSUPedia months ago for that reason. - Miraglyth 21:59, 15 August 2007 (BST)
- Which was stupid, in my opinion. We might as well rename Sabers as Single Handed Blades. Nobody calls them "throwing blades." --Qwerty 23:07, 15 August 2007 (BST)
- Ah, I apologize for jumping the gun on that one. But, Qwerty has a point with the single-handed blade thing. Same would apply to double sabers as double blades and rods as long staves since their weapon description windows all refer to them as such. EspioKaos 23:22, 15 August 2007 (BST)
- By the "named after the lowest model" rule that we abide by for every other weapon (save non-GRM weapons, which go by the description/license mission name, which for "Card" is Throwing Blade by the way...), they would be "Kikamis". - Miraglyth 23:35, 15 August 2007 (BST)
- Point. But does that mean that we'll change the name of the weapon in question to Card Fante when Ambition of the Illuminus comes out? After all, that'll be the base GRM model of this weapon. I never expected this to turn into such a big deal, and I apologize for that again, but I guess better out than in, right? EspioKaos 23:38, 15 August 2007 (BST)
- A vote would certainly see this change to Cards, so it's probably best to change it to that for now. AotI's release and the lowest GRM card should change it though, by the unwritten "lowest GRM" rule everyone uses. On a similar note, AotI will also change "Rods", as there will be a 1* GRM version released, and it cannot call that "Rod" because that's the 1* Yohmei model! - Miraglyth 23:47, 15 August 2007 (BST)
- I've been very curious about that last one. I doubt that they'll change the entire series of rods we have now to Rodoh, Mayrodoh, Halarodoh, etc. (though, I would actually prefer that!). I kind of have the feeling they might just call this new rod something like Rod (GRM). But hey, they could surprise us all. EspioKaos 23:51, 15 August 2007 (BST)
- For the record, they can't call it Staff as that's the name of a 2* GRM wand, confusingly. It's possible they'll rename only the 1* Yohmei to Rodoh, but my suspiscion remains that we'll finally get a name for that weapon category that isn't depressingly phallic. - Miraglyth 23:53, 15 August 2007 (BST)

- Ignoring the rod stuff, I'll weigh into the Throwing Blade/Card debate. Firstly, when exactly was 'Throwing Blade' made the standard? I don't remember it becoming an official standard, and I think the term is daft. Secondly, it's not true that 'Card' is only used on JP - check the Bullet License mission. It's the only good reference to the weapon type as a whole except the item descriptions and it uses the term 'Card'. Since the term is used in US PSU, and it's the proper name of the weapon type according to the JP Perfect Bible, I would argue Card is the proper term, and that Throwing Blade is simply the translation of a translation (the point being that the JP item descriptions use kanji to describe the weapon types, presumably カード doesn't mean a lot to them). This has nothing to do with the 'unwritten GRM rule', as 1* GRM weapons are named after the proper term, not the other way round (Rod will be an exception, for obvious reasons). At any rate, if this is an issue a vote should be taken on it, before we reach a decision on what to call them.
- On a side note, if we do go by this as the reasoning for calling the weapon type 'Card', the weapon type 'Grenade Launcher' will have to be changed to 'Grenade' as that is the term used. Consistency is better than mix and match based on what we like and don't like. - Mewn 19:09, 19 August 2007 (BST)
- Good point on the grenade thing. Personally, and just for the record, I would have nothing against them being known just as that. EspioKaos 21:35, 19 August 2007 (BST)

stealing your sounomi-standard char chart <3 - Beatrixkiddo 06:54, 20 June 2007 (BST)
- No problem. Glad to see others adopting it. :D EspioKaos 12:41, 20 June 2007 (BST)
- Updated the template to use the new standard, by the way. - Miraglyth 23:36, 15 August 2007 (BST)
Item template design
Coming soon. Just making a placeholder for the time being.
Weapon template test
This example demonstrates the use of the more vivid color-coding to differentiate between items released only on the JP side and those that have not been released at all. It also displays a column to mark which weapons are available in all versions of the game and which are exclusive to Ambition of the Illuminus. I personally think that the italics look a little funny in a table, but I can't make a double-standard for that sake since these abbreviations are representative of game titles, and as such should be italicized. Maybe icons similar to the manufacturer icons would be a better route to take?

- Just wondering if you could point me to a good information source for making functional templates. Such as the character profile one I can design the stuff I just need to figure out the variable code part. -- KyTin 15:08, 8 November 2007 (CST)
