Wiki ate my page. Doesn't seem to like + in names ;p
- If something like that happens, the quickest workaround is to use the <nowiki> tag. - Miraglyth 19:46, 17 August 2007 (BST)
- Edit: Oh yeah. Like the idea of downsizing the character table!

- I sure did ;D Au+ 21:00, 17 August 2007 (BST)

So uh...
Why is my user page locked to prevent editing :|
- See above. Apparently, it doesn't like the + character, and we recently installed an extension that only allows users to edit their own user page and not those of others. I guess it thinks that since you are Au+, you can't edit Au's user page. Dunno if there's a way around this, I'll check when I get a chance. Sorry. --Qwerty 17:01, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
- Wait, what's the use in that again? If people are immature enough to vandalize people's pages they deserved the ban. If this means more technical problems, might as well not restrict it. D: - Tycho 17:51, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
- Yeah, I kind of agree. I didn't see the need for it, but I was asked to install it, and I didn't foresee any issues like this, so I went ahead and did it. If we can't find a fix, I'll just disable it (or I would, if I knew how). --Qwerty 17:59, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
- When I first joined the site, one of the l33t hax0r clans were leaking their haxeta duping method, and it got spammed on to every single user page they could find (Aswell as popular normal pages). I don't know if this had an influence on the user page restriction being put on. Wormania 18:12, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
- Doubtful. That stopped well over a year ago. - Miraglyth 07:23, 8 April 2008 (CDT)

- Ack, I didn't think about this. I wonder if there's a way to set up specific privileges per user and page? - EspioKaos 19:49, 7 April 2008 (CDT)
- I suspected it might have something to do with it, heh. Is there any way to rename my account to just 'au'? If not I'll probably just register a new one so this kind of stuff stops happening... Au+ 03:35, 8 April 2008 (CDT)
- Can't change wiki accounts other than giving/depriving of privileges and banning. If possible, a more universal solution than having you make a new account would seem nice though. - Tycho 06:30, 8 April 2008 (CDT)
- Surely moving the page to User:Au+ would work, though that's neither Au-friendly or universal. - Miraglyth 07:23, 8 April 2008 (CDT)
- Mira, type in "User:Au+" in the search box. Surprise, it takes you to "User:Au". That's sort of the problem, it doesn't want to display the + in a page title. I guess I can try to move it, but I really doubt it would make any difference. --Qwerty 10:49, 8 April 2008 (CDT)
- Just tried moving, but it prompted a 'destination page already exists, please delete it first' -- even though it really interprets them as the same thing. So not a good idea. Won't work that way. - Tycho 11:03, 8 April 2008 (CDT)
- Hahaha, I should have realised that myself, having needed to FTP-delete an image over the weekend when the wiki frontend wouldn't recognise the filename thanks to an & sign. - Miraglyth 11:21, 8 April 2008 (CDT)
- Yeah, I had the same results when I tried. I suppose we have two solutions: either disable the extension and manage vandalism the old-fashioned way (I don't have any problem with this), or have Au+ make a new account (like "Au(plus)" or something) and move the page there. I guess he could also try picking a different element (maybe Unununium, shit idk). --Qwerty 11:24, 8 April 2008 (CDT)
- We're on top of the moderation so it's not as though re-enabling it would pose any notable risk. Incidentally Qwert, that element is now known as Roentgenium with the symbol Rg, so even that wouldn't work! - Miraglyth 11:39, 8 April 2008 (CDT)

- Created a new account. This page can be deleted if you like. Aurly 16:24, 8 April 2008 (CDT) (the user formerly known as Au+).
