Me

X) Not much to say about me. Grammar nazi, semi-anti-social, addicted ((to PSU, mind you! >.>)). Done.

My(other)self

My PSU character is an almost hardcore Knuckle user. Action Palette: Saber/Gun, Ice Brass Knuckle, Earth Brass Knuckle, Fists, Fists, Fists. She has a few Double Sabers ((as they were her favorite until she got three fists in one Mad Creatures C run. =D)) and a Rising Crush, but took them out after finding the Creatures B enemies to be nigh un-tossable. Her room is filled with sunflowers... XP She ought to sell those...

You

If you want to play with me, be sure to type well, or not at all. I don't usually like people randomly popping in to my game ((since they often get all of my rares, and my luck is bad enough as is)), but I'll make an exception to the people here. My game passwords are usually 9999, but sometimes I get lazy and it's 0000.

Notes

  • Heheh... Beastl. But that should be right, right? Mar-Marl, Cast-Caseal, Newm-Newearl...
  • About Phantasmagoria... I know, it's a weird name. But it's a two-player curtain fire game, so it pwns. Don't know what a curtain fire is? For shame! =P ((Note: It may be an Asian thing... I don't know many Americans who like it, since your brain just goes into overdrive at times))
  • What ABOUT my double parentheses, huh? *leer*

Mini FAQ

Intro

Although I am placing this in a wiki, it is more based upon the fact that 1) I lurve PSUpedia, 2) I love wikis, 3) because I think that this will recieve quite a bit of attention here, and 4) becuase I don't have the time to sit down and write out an entire FAQ to submit to GameFAQs, than anything else. I deplore of all of you not to steal this information; however, I would like some of the useful tidbits to be passed on to those in need of them. If you could, please link them here instead. It'll help PSUpedia as well.

I'd like to cover some jargon-- I mean, scientific terminology that I will use ((as well as a few slips that may occur x.x))

HitStun- n. The amount of time in which an enemy cannot attack. This will usually refer to a commonplace stun, as opposed to a special one like freezing. Cooldown- The amount of time it takes to either repeat an action, or perform another, after doing a move. HitStun- v. Dealing enough damage to an enemy that it recoils. MAG- I just KNOW that I'm going to call my Partner Machinery a MAG sometime in this FAQ. >.> Mob-Control- Simply, how well a weapon can keep a mob at bay, or take one out. Hit Area- The space where you take damage in an enemy's attack. ((Yes, this is where Flash has seeped into me. =P))

Weapons

    • Fists-By far, my favorite weapon, though for good reason. Although it appears to have a horrible combo with an even worse hitstun to cooldown rate for its combo, there is a VERY nice trick to it. Ignore the third attack. The second attack has the best cooldown I have seen in the game. Plus, you're still doing a three hit combo. In addition, fists have excellent mob-control with the "beautiful" Bogga Danga. ((*coughhack*Dynasty Warriors*cough*)) Even without PP, the cooldown of its hits allows you to easily maneuver outside of each enemy's hit area and deal some more hits.
    • Twin Sabers-My original favorite weapon. High damage in a short amount of time, and a horrendously deadly initial Photon Art that heavily stuns the enemy, when one is able to safely deal lots of damage, or simply thin out a mob.
    • Spears-My expected favorite weapon. I thought they would be hard to use, but well worth the effort of learning to use right. Even I am sad to say... I was wrong. It's fast, it pierces, it deals way more damage than any other weapon on its level. However, the amount of running around that you have to do to take down a mob makes it too tiring to play. In all reality, it's a great weapon... for only a few enemies. If you can find a good sword user, stick together. You'll be a force to be reckoned with.
    • Swords-My expected least favorite weapon. It's way too slow-- slow enough that a Vahra can sneak an attack in on you if you miss once, weak-- though only in comparison on a single-enemy scale, and... SLOW! The painfully lagging animation of my little Beaseal swinging around a Sephiroth/Cloud sized blade is... painful. And in that time, any number of things can go wrong. Enemies can sneak up on you from behind, or worse, not be hitstun by your swing. I digress. They aren't all bad. Against large mobs, or even large enemies, swords shine. With a high enough strength, one can pin down huge mobs that other weapon users can barely dent. Against enemies with multiple hit areas, swords can deal multiple times the amount of damage of other weapons without touching their PP. And don't forget the range!

Monsters

  • Key:
    • Off-Offensive position: Where to stand to deal the most damage. Number following this is the number of hit areas that can be targetted at once, and a plus sign denotes a weakpoint, while a minus denotes a strong.
    • Def-Defensive position: Where to stand to take the least damage or dodge attacks most easily
    • Sig-Signal: Movement that occurs to forecast the move
    • Words following are the differing attacks they are able to use. Step means a slight move, Move means a medium move, and Charge means a large move. Size descriptions denote the hit area, or area where one takes damage. Wide means left and right, long means front and back.

-Small

-Medium

  • Koltova-Def:Back|Charge:Charge Forward, Knockdown, Wide/Headbutt: Step Forward, Small

-Large

  • De Ragan-Off:Head 3+,Side 3,Section of the tail near the body 5-|Def:Behind,Tail|Fire:1-4 hits, Knockdown/Charge:Charge Forward. Tail splits apart and can also deal damage./Tail Sweep/Dive
    • Fireball Attack: In order to dodge this attack, stand in between a rock and Ragan-- do NOT attempt to run beneath it. Once the fireball hits its lowest point and starts coming straight at you, run behind the rock. The fireball should hit the rock and explode. If you are still hit, first be sure that you run far enough away, as the hit area is rather large. Second, if the fireball is hitting the rock, run sooner. If it goes over the rock and hits you, run later.
  • Shagreece-Def:Away,Under,Back|Charge:Charge, Knockdown, Wide, can turn while moving/Fire Peck:Long/Fire Breath:Slow Charge, Knockdown, Small, Burns
  • Polavohra-Off:Sides 2|Def:Back|Paw:Wide/Headbutt:Step Forward/Stomp:Large, Long delay. Damage will not occur outside of the small

dust circle, nor after the circle dissipates.
