Mock-up TECHNICs Chart: Draft 1
- Notable features of this chart:
- It shows all the information shown in the existing chart, except for JP name
- It has space for screenshots if desired, without being significantly larger on the screen
- It has seperate tech range and number of targets fields for each power level. In most cases this doesn't change, but with some it does, and we don't know what adjustments may come in the future
- It allows for the lv41-50 range of techs, thus won't need to be expanded when they are eventually released
- There may be enough space to add a 'hits required to reach this level' column, allowing us to remove the other table from this page. If we don't really want screenshots of the techs, then there will definitely be enough space. We could place the other table somewhere else if there's a need for a more detailed listing though
- I've supplied two possible formats, though I must say i prefer the top one. It seems to make more sense to group the 'descriptive' sections together, and the 'numbers' sections together
- Notable issues with this chart:
- The JP name of the tech has been removed. I don't think we really need it, but if it does need to be there I'll try to squeeze it in somewhere
- The GRM/Yohmei/Tenora icons don't seem to want to line up horizontally. I'm not sure why, but it messes up that row in the table. If someone knows how to fix this, please let me know ^^;
- I don't really like the Frag PA icon. It's taken directly from a screenshot of PSU, but it contrasts horribly with the table background
- I couldn't find any icon for 'Neudaiz Guardians branch', so I stuck an icon of Neidaiz in there instead for now
- I've used dummy screenshots since they're already being used elsewhere on the wiki. If we choose to include screenshots, those can be added later

- This is a more complete draft, demonstrating how the chart will appear on a larger scale.
- A 'Field' column has been added, as 'Range' and 'Field' don't always mean the same thing.
- I've only added information I could personally verify. It should be enough to stretch the chart to near the limit it will be when it's fully populated.
- I still haven't been able to fix the stacking icon thing >.<
- Would we prefer to show the screenshot in the middle of the table as shown above, or on the left of the table instead?

- A new revision created to address some display issues experienced when viewing Draft 3 with Firefox. Apparently that version of the chart was too wide, indicated by the Rarity template wrapping when viewed with Firefox. I've put it on a strict diet of smaller screenshots, which also allowed/required a minor adjustment to the layout.
- In this preliminary draft, I have supplied examples of the three techs that are responsible for the overall width of the chart. As such, this draft should be a good test subject for resolution/browser compatibility/window size issues.
- The most notable change is the size of the thumbs. Yes, they are small. However, this doesn't have to be a bad thing. Smaller thumbs should mean less load on the server, which I recall someone mentioning was ideal. For those visitors who would like a really good view of the screenshot in question, they can either visit the TECHNIC's dedicated article, or simply click the thumb and load the full size screenshot.
- This is more or less the final draft, unless someone has some really mind-blowing ideas to throw my way. =p If we're happy with this layout, I'll replace these drafts with the full chart, and start designing the individual articles for each TECHNIC. - Spirit 05:39, 13 February 2008 (CST)
