Shred the Darkness is an upcoming story-driven event which connects directly with the occurrences of Episode 3 as the story is brought to a close. Outside of informational and exchange missions, three mission types will be present in this event: extermination, defense and purification. Furthermore, as with certain previous events, participants will earn points which go toward a server-wide total. As predetermined milestones are reached, various prizes will be unlocked. Also, in the event missions, enemy EXP payout and item drop rates will be increased.
Event missions
- (Shred the Darkness) - tutorial mission
- (Roar of the Fiery Beast) - extermination mission
- (Divine Offensive) - defense mission
- (The Fourth Seal) - purification mission
- (Magashi Eradication) - side story mission
- (Dark Crystal Seeker) - item exchange mission
- (Hit the Counter!) - reward mission
Rewards
As players run the main event missions (extermination, defense and purification missions only), the total number of enemies defeated will be added to a server-wide point tally. These points will then be used to unlock various in-game rewards. As a reminder, enemies killed in the side story mission (Magashi Eradication) will not count toward the server's total.
Based on the Japanese run of this event, some of the rewards that can be expected include the following. Please remember that the rewards listed here are subject to change and may not reflect the rewards presented by the localized version of this event.
- Two weeks of megaholy Photon Fortune
- (Sonic Disc) for all event participants
- Two weeks of half-priced clothes and parts
- First route added to (Magashi Eradication)
- Two weeks of free makeovers at Lumilass
- G. Colony Collectible for all event participants
- 20% boost to weapon and line shield synthesis success for two weeks
- Second route added to (Magashi Eradication)
- 15% boost to weapon grinding success rates for two weeks
Individual rewards
Predetermined milestones will be set so that players who reach these marks will receive a special gift. As with the main event rewards, only points accumulated through defeating enemies in the extermination, defense and purification missions will count. Enemies killed in the side-story mission will not go toward the point total. When a player hits the required mark, they will be notified by an on-screen message, after which the reward mission, (Hit the Counter!), will appear at the GUARDIANS HQ mission counter, allowing a player to collect their prize.
