Magas Maggahna

Description

A giant robot boss similar to the boss Adahna Degahna except much taller and much harder to kill. The main difference between the 2 robots is that this boss has 2 forms. His second form can only be killed (unless you attack his arms) by ranged attacks. Like Degahna, Magas does warp around the battlefield and creates a shield that makes him damage immune. The main differences between Magas and Degahna are:

(1) Magas is lightning element. (2) Magas uses a giant sword instead of a whip. (3) The missile attack that Magas launches targets EVERY party member and relentlessly follows each member until the attack is over. (4) Magas will use 2 variations of the sword attack. 1 is to charge forward with it and the other is to spin in a 360 degree angle. (5) Unlike Degahna, Magas usually only stands still when launching an attack.

  • FYI- The 1st form mentioned is his regular form where his leg areas are targets. Once those have taken significant damage they are destroyed to reveal wheels. The wheels take up Magas' leg areas for the rest of the battle. The downside is that the wheels are like saw blades and so much as touching them causes damage to a player. The 2nd downside is that the wheels do not act as targets for hunters to attack. His arms and upper body are the only targets open for attack leaving this battle extremely hard for hunters to bear with. Magas moves around much more frequently than Degahna making targeting this boss an extreme challenge. Also the missile attack Magas does can decimate a whole party if so much as one missile connects. Once a missile is able to hit a player the other missiles have a good chance of connecting as well because there is a slight flinch after getting hit by one. The only chance to escape is to constantly run around the battlefield.
  • Note: It is possible to kill Magas before he goes into second form - just attack the arms, and ignore the legs. This is a good idea for hunters especially, as the second form seems to keep the arms in the air more often. A good skill to use is the Double Saber PA: Tornado Dance, as that can hit the arms several times before they move. However Tornado dance only applies to fighgunners as they are the only ones who can use Double Sabers. For other classes it should be a priority to avoid going for his legs but if that proves impossible to hit his arms then by all means get some damage done somehow; even if it means going for the legs.

  • For Beast Characters and all Hunters Classes- His second form provides the most challenge to Beast characters. Since the nanoblast would allow a beast to attack his legs. The arms are the only part of him that are available to attack. However Magas rasies his arms a lot to launch a barrage of ranged attacks making hitting his arms a challenge as well.

  • For Ranger Classes- You'll be depended upon most of the battle because of his constant movement, and when Magas' 2nd form comes into play.

  • For Force Classes- You'll be healing a lot and counter-acting the negative status effects Magas puts on your party. He can debuff the party with Zalure and Jellen and cause burn with his missiles.
