Boost items are consumable items which grant the user temporary bonuses such as increased stats, higher EXP payout and higher item drop rates. These items are account-bound, and therefore unable to be exchanged with other players. Furthermore, the effects of all boosters (with the exception of those which increase item drop rates) are exclusive to the user. Similar items cannot be stacked (i.e. EXP +25% and EXP +50%), however multiple items can be used simultaneously as long as they are of different types (i.e. Max HP +20% and MP +30%). In the case of drop rate boosters, only one can be used per player at a time, however the bonus applies to all party members. And if multiple players use drop rate boosters at the same time, the bonus is further magnified.

Each boost item has a time limit ranging from 20 minutes to an hour. Immediately following item usage, its timer will begin counting down, whether you are in a mission or in a lobby. However, the timer will stop upon logging out, and then resume when you sign back in to the game. After using one or more boost items, you can verify their effects in the "Status" menu under "Character information." A timer will also be displayed here to show you how much time is remaining before the effects wear off. Following the expiration of a boost item's time limit, a message will scroll up your screen (much like the rare item collection notification) stating which item is no longer in effect.
