Experiment

Guess I'm gonna have to learn alot of new, curious code that's involved in Wiki. LOL, HTML code is pratically out the window in this format. So far, I understand the use of the brackets for displaying Content-Sensitive text, exempli gratia: Xdefuego (even though my name SHOULD be XDefuego, the redundancy of having the D lowercase annoys me). Just need to find out what is the code, if there is one, of displaying Date and Time, rather than typing out the whole shaboing-boing. - Xdefuego 19:18, December 2nd, 2007 (NYT)

Second Experiment

Interesting enough, after a few minutes after my first experiment... I noticed that there's these lil' boxes on top with random things I should've paid attention to off the back. And low and behold, I see the Signature do-hickey-ma-bob. Let's see if it works... --Defuego 18:30, 2 December 2007 (CST)

  • Yeah. Also, typing four tildes (~~~~) gives the signature and time stamp. And actually, a lot of basic HTML still works within the wiki context. For example, <b>bold</b> tags work for bold, but so does '''bold''' wiki markup. For bold and italics, I actually find the HTML tags easier, but for things such as tables, wiki markup is much more manageable than HTML. For information on wiki markup and stuff, look at the MediaWiki Guide link in the sidebar. --Qwerty 20:04, 2 December 2007 (CST)
    • Thanks for the tip, Q. I guess for the time being, I'll let it display the time as is and work on another experiment. This one's gonna be to create something along the lines of a detailed introduction page on my personal, like yours, sans the picture. Hope you don't mind, but I would like to use your Personal Page as an example and go from there. --Defuego 21:09, 2 December 2007 (CST)
