This article describes the synthesis tips viewed from the "Synthesize an item" menu of a partner machine.

Synthesis time

Some items you can make in Network Mode can take time to synthesize. The more rare or higher rank the item is, the more time it will take.

Synthesis boards

Synthesis boards must be inserted into your partner machine to be used. Select [Insert board] to select a board from your inventory. Once inserted, you can synthesize as many items as the board's limit will allow. When the set number of uses has been reached, the board will disappear. You can view the number of remaining uses once you have inserted the board.

Board slots

The board's slots are labeled with the type and number of materials required. The numbers (such as [1/2]) on the right show the number of the materials in your storage on the left, and the number of materials required to complete the synthesis on the right.

[???] slots

Some weapon and armor boards have slots labeled with [???]. When you select the [???] slot, you will see a list of items you have in storage that can potentially be used to fill the slot. The item you choose will affect the success rate, as well as the elemental attribute, of the final product. There is also a chance of getting a completely different final product.

Synthesizing consumable items

Consumable items, such as healing items, can be synthesized in batches. If you have the necessary materials in storage, you can simply select the number of items you want to synthesize. You cannot, however, synthesize more than the board's limit.

Material items

When you find materials, put them in your storage so you can use them for synthesis. (Materials must be placed in storage, not your inventory, to be used.)

Types of materials

Photon

A type of material that determines the elemental attribute of striking weapons and armor. Ranged weapons and TECHNIC weapons also require specific photons for synthesis.

Metal

A type of material used to synthesize weapons. The metal required varies depending on the type of weapon and ★ rating.

Ore

A type of material used to synthesize weapons and armor. The ore required varies depending on the item's ★ rating.

Wood

A type of material used to synthesize weapons. The wood required varies depending on the item's ★ rating and manufacturer.

Hard material

Often used to synthesize armor. The particle cluster required varies depending on the armor's ★ rating and manufacturer.

Chemical

Often used to synthesize health recovery items, food, and other consumables.

Food

Often used to synthesize health recovery items, food, and other consumables.

Chips

A type of material needed to synthesize grinders, which are in turn used to upgrade weapons.

Gemstones

A type of material needed to synthesize high-grade weapons. There are boards that can be used to synthesize these high elementals.

Biomaterial

A type of material that is used to synthesize special, unusual items, such as a part of a creature's body, or a mysterious substance.

Giving items

When you give items to your partner machine, its parameters change depending on the item given. These parameters affect its synthesis abilities and can change success rates, as well as the type of item it is best at synthesizing.
