Poison/burn/infection data

I spent some time toying around with burn traps today and a level 9 burning shot bullet which inflicts a level 2 burn effect. I also gave poison and virus a similar treatment. I targeted Vanda and Jishagara level 15 in valley of carnage C. They both suffer the same damage per tick on status effects which indicates that they have roughly the same hp. My rough estimates from how many shots it took to kill them placed their hp in the neighborhood of 600. (correction, initial base HP I worked this from is 742 I'm 100% sure, I whittled the test subject to near death and let burn until burn stopped dealing damage recorded the whole ordeal as an avi and added up the HP twice. This figure is correct.) Level 1 burn dealt 14 damage every 2 seconds 5 times, total duration 10 seconds. Level 2 burn dealt 22 damage every 2 seconds 5 times, total duration 10 seconds. Level 3 burn dealt 29 damage every 2 seconds 5 times, total duration 10 seconds. This puts burn level 1 at 2% damage a tick, level 2 burn at 3% damage a tick and level 3 burn at 4% damage. Level 1 poison dealt 14 damage every 3 seconds for 4 times. Level 3 poison dealt 14 damage every 3 seconds for 8 times. This makes poison a constant 2% health damage every tick. Level 1 infection dealt 37 damage every 4 seconds 5 times. Level 2 infection dealt 37 damage every 4 seconds 6 times. Level 3 infection was 37 damage every 4 seconds 7 times. My guess at infection damage is is 5%. Decimal values on damage is rounded up using these figures. All these figures are gained by recording my tests via Fraps and watching and rewatching and retiming everything. So, I'm pretty sure about my times. I have deduced the following rules:

  • Burn always lasts 10 seconds dealing damage every 2 seconds. Damage per tick is equal to 2% + 1% for every level over 1.
  • Poison always deals 2% of maximum health damage every 2 seconds. Duration is 12 seconds + 6 seconds for every level over 1.
  • Infection always deals 5% damage every 4 seconds. Duration initially 20 seconds + 4 seconds for every level over 1.
  • Level 1 burn is roughly 10% damage over 10 seconds.
  • Level 2 burn is roughly 15% damage over 10 seconds.
  • Level 3 burn is roughly 20% damage over 10 seconds.
  • Level 1 poison is roughly 8% damage over 12 seconds.
  • Level 2 poison is roughly 12% damage over 18 seconds.
  • Level 3 poison is roughly 16% damage over 24 seconds.
  • Level 1 infection is roughly 25% damage over 20 seconds.
  • Level 2 infection is roughly 30% damage over 24 seconds.
  • Level 3 infection is roughly 35% damage over 28 seconds.
  • A level 4 infection should deal 40% of max health damage over 32 seconds. It should be easy to test if infection is lethal by whittling a little over off half the life of an infected monster and seeing if it'll die using a level 21+ dark shot on a rifle. We have individual articles for the various status effects I'm going to move this data into them. Thanks for asking those questions gave me things to investigate. --Ccelizic 03:03, 15 June 2007 (BST)
  • I made a bad error on hp values on the above math. Partially invalidates the above data, I'm working it out. --Ccelizic 05:19, 15 June 2007 (BST)
  • Found out what was wrong with the math, sorry about double edits, but I wanted to flag my data as erroneous ASAP before it spread misinformation. Now that I got proper numbers it's time to get the data up. First post has edited figures. Sorry. I tested infection for lethality while revalidating my figures since I now can figure out the exact hp of my test subjects. It stops dealing damage at 1 hp just like burn does. --Ccelizic 05:54, 15 June 2007 (BST)
