This article contains information on content which has not yet been released outside of the Japanese PC servers. This content should be introduced to the Xbox 360 servers in a future update. |
Maximum Attack X (also known as Maximum Attack Cross) is an event for the Japanese PC/PS2 servers which began April 22, 2010, and ran through May 20, 2010. The Xbox 360 version of this event is scheduled to begin September 9, 2011, and run through October 20, 2011. During a joint RELICS investigation by the Inhert Corporation and the GUARDIANS, an unusual device left behind by the ancient civilization was discovered. Known as "Arc," this device is a self-evolving program which adapts based on data that is entered into it. It has since been discovered that the ancients used the device to simulate the idea of Gurhal being overrun by the SEED. Having witnessed firsthand the suffering of Gurhal from the SEED, the GUARDIANS have decided to launch an operation to collect information for the Arc, in hopes of leading to a brighter future for Gurhal.

Event overview
Maximum Attack X is the first event of its kind to feature a multi-game crossover. Running right alongside the Japanese PC/PS2 version of the event will be a special version for Phantasy Star Portable 2. In the PC/PS2 version, players will collect data chips, special information packets that have been generated by Arc for use in simulating the various potential futures of Gurhal. The total number of data chips that have been collected will be tracked on the official event site, and as certain milestones are reached, will be used to unlock reward panels. Aside from that, however, these chips will also be used to alter the main Arc simulation, Twisting Labyrinth, putting to the test the system's self-evolving capabilities.
In the PSP version of Maximum Attack X, the official event site will be tracking the total number of enemy kills players accumulate as they play. This point total will come into play at the end of the event, where it will be used in conjunction with the total number of data chips collected to determine the attribute rate of the four weapons which will be released as rewards to event participants.

Japanese PC/PS2 version
The total number of data chips collected in the Japanese PC/PS2 version of Maximum Attack X was added to the total number of monsters killed in the Phantasy Star Portable 2 version. This total was used to determine the attribute rate of four weapons which were distributed to eligible participants after the event ended. Each weapon was given the spotlight for one week of the event along with a minimum required point total which had to be reached within the weapon's week in order for it to receive the maximum 50% attribute rate.
