== Hello ==
I'm a SysOp here on the PSUPedia, essentially a moderator. In terms of time spent serving here, I'm the most senior staff member, although Bureaucrats are more senior than me in position. I've been a SysOp here since the start of the PSUP and have no real intention of giving up soon ;/

I first got into the Phantasy Star community when the English-language version of PSOBB was released, although I had been playing PSO since v1. I am not a big fan of the classic games, but I did enjoy Phantasy Star IV. At any rate, my name in the BB community was 'Moonwraith', of which my current username is actually a corruption (hence why 'Mewn' is pronounced moon).

My claims to uber-important internet fame in the BB community were opping on the #pso IRC channel and moderating the official boards, duties which increasingly came to conflict as enmity between the channel and the boards regulars/staff grew. In the end I came in for a lot of what I would of course call undeserved criticism for 'being in IRC's pocket.' Shortly after a rather unfortunate incident involving a GM entering the channel undercover and getting banned, which started off a rather massive shitstorm, I decided to leave the moderation team, as I felt that it would either be my opship or my modship that would have to go. However my resignation was not motivated by any personal dislike of the administrators and to this day I continue to hold respect for them.

Since the early days of PSUPedia I have seen it grow into a site referenced as much as PSOW, a fact of which I am immensely proud. The work of many different people has made this possible and while I am not a great lover of the PS community in general, thinking it a ragtag bunch of lackwits and fools, I am impressed as to how much this site has grown. I couldn't possibly name names (far too many) but I am thankful for the work that has been done.

And my interest in PSUPedia? I confess it isn't altruistic, not having much time for that particular branch of thought. PSUPedia works on the basis of mutual self-learning, where everyone learns from each other, where everyone improves their knowledge of PSU using the many different perspectives of the contributors. But just as I have gained much from PSUPedia, I hope that everyone else too, has benefited from the site.

These days, I remain a SysOp here and have no plans to give up the position. Despite the additional powers I have the wiki mostly runs on the self-moderation of its users and while I can ban people and delete pages (and occasionally do, within the boundaries of common sense) I am not intrinsically above any other contributor on the wiki. I am also an op on the #phantasystar channel, a channel created to merge two... warring factions in IRC, and which has worked remarkably well. The address is irc.lunarnet.org:6668 #phantasystar if you are interested, but be warned that the channel is frequently off-topic and NSFW.

As for elsewhere in the PSU community, I am banned from both the official forums and PSOW under my main account, the former for spamming troll memes such as 'Your concerns have been noted. Your account will be investigated, and you will receive a response within 48 hours.' and the latter because they don't seem to like the word [[Diad|Diadu]] much. I have alts on both forums which I occasionally post with, but apart from the obvious reason that I'd just get rebanned if I revealed them, I enjoy posting incognito. You're welcome to try and figure out what my alts are called though, heheh.

Hello

I'm Mewn, lover of drama and troll extraordinaire. I'm arrogant, argumentative and a complete bastard. But I'm not a bad person, really. Just... hard to get along with, maybe, heheheheh.

Oh, and I hate idiots with a burning passion.

Now for the wall of text inspired by Mono's and Tycho's user pages.

Apropos Phantasy Star

In the end I stayed with #pso as an op until the channel became #psu, after which I remained an op. Around this time Ahzi Dahaka founded PSUPedia as a repository for all PSU knowledge, as a friend of his at the time I got given a SysOp position which I hold to this day (just in case anyone worries I got this through merit). Asim too was a SysOp at this time. However, unfortunately our friendship soured and Ahzi and Asim eventually left. PSUPedia was put into the capable hands of DreamXG, who, despite being a person I personally do not like, has served PSUPedia extremely well.

Your account will be investigated, and you will receive a response within 48 hours.' and the latter because they don't seem to like the word Diadu much. I have alts on both forums which I occasionally post with, but apart from the obvious reason that I'd just get rebanned if I revealed them, I enjoy posting incognito. You're welcome to try and figure out what my alts are called though, heheh.

I am also active on the highly controversial Synbios forum under my Mewn name, particularly the near-moderation-free Drama City subforum.

Real life

In real life, I am Sam, a humble near-21-year-old university student studying Journalism and French. I prefer the French side though, to be honest. Although I hear some interesting stories while court reporting for my portfolio...

Other than my studies and of course Phantasy Star, I enjoy video games in general (no surprise then) - with tastes ranging from games like Pokemon to stuff like Half-Life. I'm also an avid reader, in particular being a fan of the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett, although I do enjoy other fantasy works as well (yes, that includes Harry Potter).

As a student of Journalism, I'm also interested in the news and politics. Politically I consider myself central, being more given to pragmatism than rigid ideological ideals. Although if cynicism was a political ideology I'd probably be at the forefront of it.

As a student of French, I obviously speak the language to some degree, although it's far from being perfect.

If I haven't written much here about my real life, it's because it's about as interesting as all the other lives of people on this planet. For a complete stranger seeing this on the internet, I doubt it stands out much at all. C'est la vie.
