Localized enemy and item names
- Since you've confirmed that the enemy names given in the [drop templates] page are from the game data, thus official localizations, I was wondering if there was any more stuff to add? Boss names, for example, are missing from the list. Also, what about item, weapon and line shield names? Were you able to find any of the files that contained that data? - EspioKaos 09:16, 7 December 2007 (CST)
The PSUPedia:Manual of style
- just wondering since your a Op if you would know why the last part of that page the S stars have the color of the S2 boxs and vesa versa. - KyTin 17:07, 1 November 2007 (CDT)
- If you're referring to the star templates right at the bottom, I would say it's for clarity, since the bright yellow stars don't show up particularly well against a white background. I've been looking into the possibility of changing it by using images from the game itself, which would probably show up better. - Mewn 17:10, 1 November 2007 (CDT)
- Yeah i was reffering to its just a bit confusing seeing gold box and yellow stars lol. - KyTin 17:16, 1 November 2007 (CDT)
Templates
- Mewn, is there a User: section for templates i wanted to make some but would rather not have them in the main section as people might not see the point of some of them and remove them. -- KyTin 22:15, 5 November 2007 (CST)
- I'm not Mewn, but I'm a SysOp so I'll go out on a limb and give you this response: For user pages, a few templates have been made (namely Character profile). Unless it's a template that will be useful in more than a handful of pages, I'd suggest simply making the template by hand and editing it by hand. However, my vote is only one vote, so other SysOps may have something else to say on the matter. --Beatrixkiddo 22:19, 5 November 2007 (CST)
- I think that is really unnecessary and silly, to be honest. There really are currently no articles that are Xblock only or PC/PS2 only, nor do I forsee any in the future. Besides, I can't help but worry that it would lead to asinine console debates. --Qwerty 00:54, 6 November 2007 (CST)
- Some changes just don't happen at the same times, example when did the pc/ps2 server have deaths stop making you lose S rank score on missions or did they ever. Demo events are only on the 360 server and would be usful when posting up coming demo events. It is however true that I was mostly thinking of it as a thing for people to put on user pages, as I'm always wondering if anyone on here is on the 360 server besides me. -- KyTin 03:45, 6 November 2007 (CST)
- Eh, there's a case for infobox templates for use on user pages à la Wikipedia, so I wouldn't specifically mind if someone developed those as templates for user pages, but since that's not a priority for me I won't do anything except say 'Go for it' and offer help on creating the templates should it be asked for. We rarely actually do articles on things that have proven to be different between 360 and PC. But often the platforms these changes affect are clearly marked in patch notes on the official site, or it becomes apparent and spreads through the community quickly. As for Demo weekends, a 360-only box is perhaps superfluous. PC/PS2 users do not have a Demo version or a Demo server, hence it is plainly obvious that only 360 will have the Demo weekends. We don't even have any articles on Demo weekends, sadly, this is a case of too much stuff to do and too little time. I feel that if it becomes necessary to list the differences between 360 and PC/PS2, a single article should suffice for that, and that would not need any kind of templates. - Mewn 11:38, 6 November 2007 (CST)
