In my group of (real-life) friends, there's one other PSO/PSU player; Yakusen. Chances are, if you've played PSU alongside me, you've seen him around. Myself, Yakusen, and one other friend started a video game review site, known as Magnistar[http://magnistar.webng.com]. Although the site is presently broken, due to some twisted head-games by our host, all of our content is hiding here and there. I'll update the link when I get a better host. Promise.
The only initial reason I got PSO for the Dreamcast was because of the Sonic Adventure 2 demo. I am now, always have been, and will likely continue to be a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog. Upon playing the level City Escape to death, I began playing PSO, with a character that I titled "Aarokan". Unfortunately, the copy of PSO I had played on was rented, and due to the bizarre system in place on savefiles in those days, I was unable to use that character upon purchasing my own copy.
Yamishi IX

Although I have had tons of other characters along the way, those listed are my primary characters, and therefore, the ones I have used most often.

About me

I've been a computer geek most of my life. I'm a huge Sega fan, ever since Sonic 2 for the Genesis rocked my metaphorical world.
I own all of the Sega systems minus Saturn, Master System and Nomad. Dammit. After Sega moved to focusing on third-party software development, I moved to Nintendo's Gamecube and Gameboy Advance. After that generation of consoles, I jumped on board with Xbox 360 and Wii.
I enjoy writing fiction (NOT FAN-FICTION) and intend to become a published author someday. Wish me luck.
In my group of (real-life) friends, there are a few other PSO/PSU players; Yakusen, Zen Naito, Kiraaka and Omocha. Chances are, if you've played PSU alongside me, you've seen one of them around. Myself, Yakusen, and one other friend started a video game review site, known as Magnistar.

Phantasy Star Involvement

Warning: Long read. Give it a look if you actually want to know a detailed history of my Phantasy Star gaming for some reason.

Yamishi X, just hangin' around.

I've been playing the Phantasy Star games since Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast. I have since learned of the rich history behind Phantasy Star, and I went back for a retroactive view of Phantasy Star 1-4.
When I got my own PSO disc, I had to create a new character. I had no idea what to name this new beefybot. Upon consulting an uncle of mine, he insisted that I not "mess with Uncle Darkyman Steve!" To this day, I have no idea what he meant.
But I had no problem stealing that "Darkyman" bit.
Using a Section ID calculator, I determined that DARKMAN (in all caps) was the only way I would get the Section ID I wanted. I think it was Whitill.
Later on, as PSO Ep1&2 was released for GCN, I had the same dilemma. What to name him? I ended up keeping the Darkman title, but I modified it to get a new Section ID (Purplenum) by changing it to "Darkman MkII".
Shortly thereafter, I learned that "Darkman" was the name of a rap artist (DMX) and a superhero (Darkman, obviously). So, a change was in order!
For PSO Ep3, I decided that I wanted to keep the Darkman title, but not leave it as "Darkman" for the aforementioned reasons. So, being the keen little weeaboo that I was, I changed my character's name lineage to "Yamishi" (roughly translated from Japanese: Darkness-gentleman) and continued adding version numbers after the name.
Between Episode 3 and Blue Burst, I spent a lot of my free time hacking the crud out of PSOPC, setting up my own server (CA/Chrome with color and all) and creating many more versions of Yamishi to test-hack with.
When Blue Burst came around, I was up to Darkman version nine, or as I named him, Yamishi IX. This is where the PSO gaming stops, and where PSU begins.
I started up PSU for the first time, using a hacked version of the Japanese beta. I couldn't play online, but I spent hours designing my ideal character using the character creator. I settled on my closest-possible-to-RAcast appearance (what can I say? I have a weakness for massive, gun-toting robots). When the actual version of PSU was ready to launch, I pre-ordered at EBgames. Go me! I had dial-up at the time, so downloaded patches took around 14 hours (100MB patch! You fiend!) and playing was a pain... but I still loved it.
I also pre-ordered AotI, and I've was happily playing on there until they pulled the plug on the PC version.
As of June 2008, I had created a subscription on Xbox 360, for the 360 version of AotI. I got up to level 27, then decided I'd rather stick with my PC character. GUESS HOW THAT TURNED OUT.

Now, I play on the 360 version, and I'm constantly trying to catch up to my PC character, which had roughly five stacks of Meseta, a bunch of grinded gear (such as Guld & Millas) and a twinkle in his eye.
