I've been a computer geek most of my life. I'm a huge Sega fan, ever since Sonic 2 for the Genesis rocked my metaphorical world.
I own all of the Sega systems minus Saturn, Master System and Nomad. Dammit.
After Sega moved to focusing on third-party software development, I moved to Nintendo's Gamecube and Gameboy Advance. After that generation of consoles, I jumped on board with '''Xbox 360''' and '''Wii'''.
I enjoy writing fiction (NOT FAN-FICTION) and intend to become a published author someday. Wish me luck.
In my group of (real-life) friends, there are a few other PSO/PSU players; Yakusen, Zen Naito, Kiraaka and Omocha. Chances are, if you've played PSU alongside me, you've seen one of them around. Myself, Yakusen, and one other friend started a video game review site, known as [http://magnistar.wikispaces.com Magnistar].
== Phantasy Star Involvement ==
'''Warning: Long read. Give it a look if you actually want to know a detailed history of my Phantasy Star gaming for some reason.'''
[[Image:Stand.png|left|frame|Yamishi X, just hangin' around.]]
I've been playing the Phantasy Star games since Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast. I have since learned of the rich history behind Phantasy Star, and I went back for a retroactive view of Phantasy Star 1-4.
The only initial reason I got PSO for the Dreamcast was because of the Sonic Adventure 2 demo. I am now, always have been, and will likely continue to be a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog. Upon playing the level City Escape to death, I began playing PSO, with a character that I titled "Aarokan". Unfortunately, the copy of PSO I had played on was rented, and due to the bizarre system in place on savefiles in those days, I was unable to use that character upon purchasing my own copy.
When I got my own PSO disc, I had to create a new character. I had no idea what to name this new beefybot. Upon consulting an uncle of mine, he insisted that I not "mess with Uncle Darkyman Steve!" To this day, I have no idea what he meant.
''But I had no problem stealing that "Darkyman" bit.''
Using a Section ID calculator, I determined that DARKMAN (in all caps) was the only way I would get the Section ID I wanted. I think it was Whitill.
Later on, as PSO Ep1&2 was released for GCN, I had the same dilemma. What to name him? I ended up keeping the Darkman title, but I modified it to get a new Section ID (Purplenum) by changing it to "Darkman MkII".
Shortly thereafter, I learned that "Darkman" was the name of a rap artist (DMX) and a superhero (Darkman, obviously). So, a change was in order!
For PSO Ep3, I decided that I wanted to keep the Darkman title, but not leave it as "Darkman" for the aforementioned reasons. So, being the keen little weeaboo that I was, I changed my character's name lineage to "Yamishi" (roughly translated from Japanese: Darkness-gentleman) and continued adding version numbers after the name.
Between Episode 3 and Blue Burst, I spent a lot of my free time hacking the crud out of PSOPC, setting up my own server (CA/Chrome with color and all) and creating many more versions of Yamishi to test-hack with.
When Blue Burst came around, I was up to Darkman version nine, or as I named him, Yamishi IX. This is where the PSO gaming stops, and where PSU begins.
I started up PSU for the first time, using a hacked version of the Japanese beta. I couldn't play online, but I spent hours designing my ideal character using the character creator. I settled on my closest-possible-to-RAcast appearance (what can I say? I have a weakness for massive, gun-toting robots). When the actual version of PSU was ready to launch, I pre-ordered at EBgames. Go me! I had dial-up at the time, so downloaded patches took around 14 hours (100MB patch! You fiend!) and playing was a pain... but I still loved it.
I also pre-ordered AotI, and I've was happily playing on there until they pulled the plug on the PC version.
As of June 2008, I had created a subscription on Xbox 360, for the 360 version of AotI. I got up to level 27, then decided I'd rather stick with my PC character. GUESS HOW THAT TURNED OUT.
Now, I play on the 360 version, and I'm constantly trying to catch up to my PC character, which had roughly five stacks of Meseta, a bunch of grinded gear (such as Guld & Millas) and a twinkle in his eye.

===Simulation Outline===
* Holupe Dence: The simulator we're using right now is an older version. Thanks to the many Guardians who have assisted in this project, we have been able to collect all kinds of data using the current version of the simulator. I've made the decision to also utilize the older version due to the fact that many newer Guardians have been clamoring to bring it back. You see, GUARDIANS enrollment has been skyrocketing. This is precisely why I designed the system in the first place! (shouts) Leave it to me! My brilliant work will soon shine! (normal) Heh heh heh... Um... Yes. *Ahem* Hopefully, the experienced Guardians will serve as leaders for the next generation. Whether you're doing the teaching or the learning... I'm hoping this will be a fruitful experience for all.

===Simulation Specs===
[Protectors 1]
:1. This mission was created from the logs of past Guardians.

:2. S2 difficulty is exclusive to Ambition of the Illuminus.

:3. Results will be based on the number of scattered disks collected during the mission.
:Rank C: 2 or less
:Rank B: 3-5
:Rank A: 6-8
:Rank S: 9 or more

:4. The further you go, the greater the experience points you can receive. The increases are displayed on the right side of the screen.

[Protectors 2]
:5. In VR: Block A, the party may select any route they wish. However, routes not selected cannot be used. To select them, re-accept the mission.

:6. When moving from VR: Block B to VR: Block C, there is a fixed probability that you will be moved to a hidden route.
:If a hidden route appears, you will not be able to access the normal route, even if you move back to VR: Block B and access VR: Block C again.

[Protectors 3]
:7. If you access the hidden route, VR: Block D is a fire-infected area.
:When entering VR: Block D, your inventory will be checked.

:If you do not have a photon eraser, you will automatically be given one.

:However, if your inventory is already full, you will be forced to return to VR: Block C. After clearing room in your inventory, you can return to VR: Block D and receive your photon eraser.

[Protectors 4]
:8. In certain blocks, some disks cannot be obtained by only one player. Others might not be accessible by certain types.
:When this occurs, you will need the cooperation of your party members.

:9. There are occasions where you will be unable to advance without goggles in your inventory. Please make sure you have them. Players who haven't received goggles before should select "Receive Goggles" from the top menu.

[Protectors 5]
:10. If all party members are incapacitated during the mission, it will be considered a failure.

:Also, if a player joins while your party is fighting the final boss, and all players fighting the boss in the boss block are incapacitated, then regardless of the status of the newly joined player, the mission will end in failure.

:This also applies in the case of any player left behind when the rest of their party uses the transport device to the boss battle.

[Protectors 6]
:11. Checkpoints at VR: Block A and VR: Block D can only be used to return to the lobby.
:Be aware that you cannot use them to move between blocks.

:Also, only players with Ambition of the Illuminus can return to the lobby, not standard PSU players.

[Protectors 7]

:"α+" VR: Block B only

:12. By selecting the west route from VR: Block A, an event-only partner character will join you.
:Other players will be unable to join your party mid-mission while the event-only partner character is in your party.
:This is true even for parties of 3 or less, so to ensure others are able to join mid-mission, avoid using the western route.

===Purification Explanation===
[Purification]
:In the simulator, you may find a hidden route requiring purification.
====How to use goggles====
[How to use goggles]
:1. Switch to a first-person view by pressing [Q].
:2. Switch to the search screen by pressing [←] or [↑].
:3. Check your surroundings for search points.
:4. When you discover a search point, you can retrieve items or information.
:The above can be done without the goggles in your palette.
:(You can also use the traditional method.)

====About SEED-Blewme====
[About SEED-Blewme]
:The SEED core is surrounded by a special barrier called the SEED-Blewme.
:Attacks have no effect on SEED-Blewme.

====About SEED-Zoma====
[About SEED-Zoma]
:Surrounding the SEED core, sticking out of the ground, are numerous root-like SEED-Zoma. In the case of fire SEED contamination, SEED-Zoma cannot be detected through normal means. Goggles are required.

:After uncovering a SEED-Zoma and exposing it to the photon eraser, purification can begin. When the SEED-Zoma turns a grayish color, it is vulnerable to regular weapon attacks.

====About SEED-Gozoma====
[SEED-Gozoma]
:To purify the huge SEED-Zoma known as "SEED-Gozoma," you will need many photon erasers. Please perform this mission with multiple players.

====Purification of SEED cores====
[SEED core purification]
:After purification of the surrounding SEED-Zoma, the SEED-Blewme will wither, exposing the SEED core, which becomes vulnerable to regular attacks. Occasionally items or info keys can be found upon purification of the SEED-Zoma or SEED core.

===Receive Goggles===
I had no idea what to name this new, beefybot.
Shortly thereafter, I learned that "Darkman" was the name of a rap artist (DMX) and a hero (Darkman, obviously).
I also pre-ordered AotI, and I've been happily playing on there ever since.
As of June 2008, I have created a subscription on Xbox 360, for the 360 version of AotI.
Although my character is going to perpetually be a lower level than my PC character, I still welcome all players to say hi to me, and invite me to games. See you out there!

I'm presently attending Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada for Professional Writing. I completed a year of Computer Programming, decided I hated it, and switched to the writing course.
I enjoy writing fiction (NOT FAN-FICTION) and intend to become a published author someday. Wish me luck.
In my group of (real-life) friends, there's one other PSO/PSU player; Yakusen. Chances are, if you've played PSU alongside me, you've seen him around. Myself, Yakusen, and one other friend started a video game review site, known as [http://magnistar.webng.com Magnistar].
I had no idea what to name this new, beefybot.
Shortly thereafter, I learned that "Darkman" was the name of a rap artist (DMX) and a hero (Darkman, obviously).

I had no idea what to name this new, beefybot.
Shortly thereafter, I learned that "Darkman" was the name of a rap artist (DMX) and a hero (Darkman, obviously).

While it's always great to see new faces on the PSUpedia, please keep in mind that SysOps like myself need to patrol the Recent Changes list to monitor any edits made to the PSUpedia. When you make a bunch of small edits in a row that list fills up quickly and makes extra work :P If you use the preview function you can see how your edits will affect your userpage and condense all that work into one edit. In addition, I noticed you're using a MyGamerCard image. Rather than uploading it to the wiki, you might want to simply use this code:

<nowiki>[http://profile.mygamercard.net/yamishi http://card.mygamercard.net/geothermal/yamishi.png]</nowiki>

That will use the image from the MyGamerCard servers, and it will automatically update when people visit your userpage. --[[User:Beatrixkiddo|Beatrixkiddo]] 22:18, 12 June 2008 (CDT)

My name is Aaron. I'm 21 years old, and I've been a computer geek most of my life.

== Phantasy Star Involvement ==
'''Warning: Long read. Give it a look if you actually want to know a detailed history of my Phantasy Star gaming.'''
I had no idea what to name this new, beefybot.
Shortly thereafter, I learned that "Darkman" was the name of a rap artist (DMX) and a hero (Darkman, obviously).

== About me ==
My name is Aaron. I'm 21 years old, and I've been a computer geek most of my life.

== Phantasy Star Involvement ==
'''Warning: Long read. Give it a look if you actually want to know a detailed history of my Phantasy Star gaming.'''
I had no idea what to name this new, beefybot.
Shortly thereafter, I learned that "Darkman" was the name of a rap artist (DMX) and a hero (Darkman, obviously).

I had no idea what to name this new, beefybot.
Shortly thereafter, I learned that "Darkman" was the name of a rap artist (DMX) and a hero (Darkman, obviously).
====1/15/2007: Updated====
*Happy New Year! The update has come, and it appears to be what I researched, but I can't find the bathing suits! AGHH! - [[User:Kyodai Inkei|Kyodai Inkei]] 16:25, 15 January 2007 (CST)
====12/31/2006: Update Coming Mid-January====
* Happy New Year! With the new year comes good news. On January Twelfth, 2007, the greedy, lethargic, and possibly apathetic workers of SEGA and Sonic Team will give all US/EU servers a much needed content update. In this update, a completely new mission will become available on Moatoob; this is rumored to be "Bruce's Dungeon." The third online story mission will also be made available. In the way of combat, new Photon Arts will be released, and the level cap will be increased to 70. On an individual level, new room decorations will be added, but, most importantly, new clothing and parts will be a welcomed addition. Personally, I cannot wait for the swimsuits. Hurray for close-to-full nudity! - [[User:Kyodai Inkei|Kyodai Inkei]] 08:34, 31 December 2006 (CST)

====12/26/2006: Christmas Is Over====
* The Christmas theme has been removed from all lobbies on all PSU servers. All Christms-themed items are no longer available in NPC stores. - [[User:Kyodai Inkei|Kyodai Inkei]] 18:00, 26 December 2006 (PST)

====12/22/2006: Another Update====
* Nothing big, but a new mission, "Episode 2 Chapter 2: Desert's End", has been added. S-rank missions have also been added. What will be the fate of our beloved ex-Guardian Ethan? - [[User:Kyodai Inkei|Kyodai Inkei]] 4:09, 22 December 2006 (PST)

====12/16/2006: Third Update====
* Again a little late, but Sega has made good on their promise of weekly content updates (so far). This past Friday, the English Phantasy Star Universe servers were updated with five new S-Rank missions. The missions are: Mad Creatures, Mizuraki Defense, Demons Above, Valley of Carnage, and Mine Defense. The official website promises [http://phantasystaruniverse.com/community_quests.php?item=20061215a here] that next week will bring a new story mission, along with even more S-Rank missions. - [[User:Segaholic2|Segaholic2]] 13:29, 16 December 2006 (PST)

====12/09/2006: Second Update!====
* (A little late, but...) Starting a series of what is promised to be weekly updates in the forseeable future, the English Phantasy Star Universe servers have been updated with a plethora of content. Most importantly the raise in level cap from 50 to 60 and the addition of Expert [[Types]], the addition of A and S-ranked weapons and armor, our first Story Mission and our first two S-Rank [[Missions]], the update also introduces to us our first [[events|event]], in the form of Christmas. For further information on the update's details check the [[Updates]] page. - [[User:Miraglyth|Miraglyth]] 14:21, 9 December 2006 (PST)
It seems that the [http://phantasystaruniverse.com/index.php official site] is still lagging behind, but [https://billing.playsega.com/protected/securityCheck PlaySega] now allows European players to get their GUARDIANS Licenses without any problems as well. ====11/15/2006: First Update Gets Official Date====
* 1up.com has teamed up with Sega to provide official PSU update news, before even the official PSU website gets it. The [http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3155269 article] confirms that there will be a content patch this coming Thursday, and will be available to access on Friday the 17th. Moatoob will finally be accessible, including the materials, weapons, and items that go along with it. Parum and Neudaiz will also receive new missions, so in total about 6 new missions will be introduced in this update. - [[User:Segaholic2|Segaholic2]] 10:24, 15 November 2006 (PST)
====11/11/2006: First online cheating on PSU US====
* Due to the fact that PSU's Network Mode still lets certain things be handled client-side, the first forms of online hacking have been able to manifest itself. The perpetrator is (not quite unsurprisingly) Broomop. People reporting the issue on the [http://boards2.sega.com/psu_board/ official forums] were quickly silenced, but one [http://pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?mode=viewtopic&topic=126377&forum=20 PSOW thread] still has quite a bit of info on the events. The user was banned shortly, but considering the fact he keeps shifting through new accounts by begging for them, this does not quite solve things really. Let's hope the issue will be taken care of. - [[User:Tycho|Tycho]] 08:14, 11 November 2006 (PST)
====10/27/2006: Importers beating the system====
* There has been a lot going on since the US release, with the apparent [http://pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=123012&forum=20&228 lack of a game key], the log-in servers getting jammed like at the Japanese release, and the horrid AVS system impeding EU players from being able to create game accounts easily. [[User:Miraglyth|Miraglyth]] has recently covered most of the recent history on the latter in the new [[Importing]] article. If you haven't been reading all forums 24/7 and and are considering to import the game or are already in the process of doing so, be sure to give it a read. - [[User:Tycho|Tycho]] 07:37, 27 October 2006 (PDT)
====10/24/2006: The Battle Begins -- Though no payment options for importers!====
* Well, the US official release date is now upon us and many of us are anxiously waiting for copies to arrive by post or for pre-orders to get to shops or whatever. If you manage to get hold of the game today despite the apparent delays and other stuff then you're a lucky sod and I hate you. But enjoy your Gurhalian life, everybody~ [[User:Mewn|Mewn]]
*: Edit: It turned out only American credit cards can be used to pay for subscribtions. In practice, this means European and Australian players that imported the American version got shafted, and will not be able to play online for a month, unless they manage to make a deal with contacts resident in the States. Voice your discontent about the issue [http://boards2.sega.com/psu_board/viewtopic.php?t=1866 here], or make an attempt to get Sonic Team to listen and try your luck with the [http://www.phantasystaruniverse.com/support_contact.php support forms]! - [[User:Tycho|Tycho]] 12:52, 24 October 2006 (PDT)
====10/14/2006: Xbox360 payment details!====
The PSUPedia has got hold of some information which appears to reveal and confirm certain details of the payment for the X360 GUARDIANS License.
* You only need a Silver Xbox Live subscription - that was well known anyway though.
* US Xbox360 GUARDIANS License is [http://psupedia.org/images/6/62/Xbox360Payment.JPG $9.99/month]. The EU License is [http://psupedia.org/images/e/e0/Xbox360UKPayment.JPG E8.95/month].
* There's no option for Microsoft Points - payment seems to be Credit/Debit Card only. A 'Redeem Code' option appears for both EU and US, the exact use is unknown, but I ''speculate'' it to be something like entering a serial code that comes with the game in order to get a free trial period. I can't say for sure though, and wouldn't like to pin down a use.
* The currency shown when you are purchasing the License depends on the region of your Gamertag.
Note: This information is not final and is subject to change. Neither myself nor PSUPedia take any responsibility if the information does turn out to be incorrect. That's not to say it isn't, I just like to cover my backside. :) [[User:Mewn|Mewn]] 19:42, 14 October 2006 (PDT) [[Image:X360_Silver_Membership.PNG|thumb|right|113px|An XBox Live Silver box]]
* The price of the GUARDIANS License will be $9.99 each month. The price is still unknown for other areas, like the EU versions.
* A GUARDIANS License can be bought on the X360 with either a Gold or a Silver Xbox Live account.
*[[Parum]] missions
*[[Neudaiz]] missions
*[[Moatoob]] missions (along with the planet itself)
*Mission bonuses and mission parameters (more objectives, simply)
While the maintenance is short, you still won't be able to play the PC version offline (Including [[Extra Mode]]) between the hours. Other updates revealed that Sega would add more universes for [[News#9/12/06: World1 and World2 server division|Worlds1 and 2]] and allow access to [http://segalink.jp/ SegaLink] data from the server side. ''US and EU servers will be linked, I don't think anyone will have any problems with me releasing that info. The release date for EU is November 24, as seen by their version of the site. ====09/12/2006: World1 and World2 server division====
-STE- of PSOW has posted [http://pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=118979&forum=20&13 in this thread] about an update on the PSU (Japanese) [http://www.phantasystaruniverse.jp/server/ official site] that there will be a division of JP servers; [http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/server/image/world.jpg World1 and World2]. Characters will be bound to one world once they are created in that world. Although they are different servers/worlds, you will still only have four characters. At the moment, there is only World1. Once Sega establishes World2 in two days, you can make a one time migration to another World (everyone is on World1 as of now) but after that, you will be separated from everyone in World1. There will be 100 univeres (or servers) once World2 is established. Worlds, which Sega sees as being much larger than a universe, are mainly for server space. This trend is also expected on the US/EU version of PSU. [[User:SAsim|Asim]] ( [[User talk:SAsim|T]]·[[Special:Contributions/SAsim|C]]·) 13:25, 12 September 2006 (PDT)
(although if you live in North America, along with countries such as Spain, you will see the release date is October 24th). ====12/22/2006: Another Update====
====12/16/2006: Third Update====
====10/27/2006: Importers beating the system====
* Well, the US official release date is now upon us and many of us are anxiously waiting for copies to arrive by post or for pre-orders to get to shops or whatever. But enjoy your Gurhalian life, everybody~ [[User:Mewn|Mewn]]
====10/14/2006: Xbox360 payment details!====
The PSUPedia has got hold of some information which appears to reveal and confirm certain details of the payment for the X360 GUARDIANS License.
* You only need a Silver Xbox Live subscription - that was well known anyway though.
* US Xbox360 GUARDIANS License is [http://psupedia.org/images/6/62/Xbox360Payment.JPG $9.99/month]. The EU License is [http://psupedia.org/images/e/e0/Xbox360UKPayment.JPG E8.95/month].
* A GUARDIANS License can be bought on the X360 with either a Gold or a Silver Xbox Live account.
*Mission bonuses and mission parameters (more objectives, simply)
While the maintenance is short, you still won't be able to play the PC version offline (Including [[Extra Mode]]) between the hours.
