Voxie: /* Obtaining Nanoblasts */

Nanoblasting is the Beasts' racial ability. They can temporarily transform into a more animalistic and beastial form, improving their abilities in combat. This transformation is possible because of the extensive genetic modification that Beasts underwent in their creation. On Moatoob, the Beast home planet, there is a law against Nanoblasting in cities, as the Beasts are a hot-blooded and proud people, given to fighting. This law carries strict penalties.

Obtaining Nanoblasts
Beasts require a Blast Badge in order to transform. This is a kind of tattoo Beasts have on their arm, and different Blast Badges will result in different forms with different abilities. A Beast of at least Character Level 20 can purchase a Blast Badge for 10,000 Meseta in the Estee Shop (can be found on 3F of the Guardians Colony next to the Clothes Shop, recognizable by a pink sign).

Using the Nanoblast
When a Beast has a Blast Badge, the Damage Gauge below your character name and level will fill up as you take and deal damage in Missions, similar to the Photon Blast system in Phantasy Star Online.

PC controls: When full, the gauge will shine and pressing, by default, the Down and Right arrow keys together will then activate the Nanoblast.

360 controls: When full, the gauge will shine and pressing, by default, the X and Y buttons together will then activate the Nanoblast.

Some Advice: If using any Nanoblast except the Vunde Val (invincibility) tattoo, take note that Beasts are unable to use items whilst the Nanoblast is in effect. It is advisable to 1) Makesure your HP is at max before activating the Nanoblast, and 2) Perhaps have a Resta-summoner close by.

Photon Arts are the special attacks of PSU. They are items, that are equipped to Weapons, and come in three forms:

* Skills are powerful melee attacks that can often extend a combo. Melee weapons use Skills and Hunters specialize in their use.
* Bullets are passive Photon Arts that change a weapon's Element and give it a special Status Effect that can be inflicted upon enemies. Ranged weapons use Bullets and Rangers specialize in their use.
* Techniques are the Magic-equivalent in PSU. They can achieve a number of effects, including healing and elemental damage. Casting weapons use Techniques, and thus, only Forces can use them.

Photon Art Levels
When bought and first equipped, all Photon Arts start at Level 1. By using Photon Arts (that is to say, using them to damage monsters, heal allies and so on - not just using them constantly) they will eventually level up, and a message will appear on the right of the screen to inform you that the Photon Art has levelled up. Upon levelling up, Photon Arts will become more powerful - their damage or healing will increase, the chance of Status Effects happening will increase, the number of combo hits will increase amongst other things.

For Photon Arts there is a combo increase once it reaches LV11. You are able to do a second attack immediately after the first by pressing the attack button once more.

A Beast of at least Character Level 20 can purchase a Blast Badge for 10,000 Meseta in the Estee Shop (can be found on 3F next to the Clothes Shop, recognizable by a pink sign).
