Starrz: /* Story Missions vs. Free Missions */

Story missions are the network mode continuation of Phantasy Star Universes offline story mode. These online-only missions make up what is known as Phantasy Star Universe Episode 2.

About Story Missions
Story missions are network mode-exclusive missions that pick up where the offline story mode left off. These missions place your character in the role of a new GUARDIANS recruit under the instruction of Laia Martinez. Compared to the free missions which you can pick up at multiple counters across the Gurhal System, there are a number of differences that separate these two mission types.

Story Missions vs. Free Missions
* So far, all story missions are initiated from one counter, the Clyez City GUARDIANS HQ.
* Story missions are all single player. Unlike free missions, you are unable to invite other players or NPCs to join you on your mission.
* Death will lead to the immediate failure of a story mission. Likewise, Scape Dolls cannot be used.
* Once a story mission has been initiated, you will be unable to transport back to a lobby unless you decide to abandon your mission.
* Story missions are divided into two acts. Between each act will be a checkpoint lobby where you will be able restock recovery items if necessary.
* Each act of a story mission contains a trial. Just like with free missions, you will be given a meseta and mission point reward depending on how well you performed. In addition, 10 PA Fragments are awarded the first time a particular trial is finished with an S rank on A level difficulty.
* Since the February 2nd update, it is possible to select the difficulty level of the story missions, the requirements being level 1 for C, level 35 for B, and level 60 for A level difficulties.

Chapter 1: The Masked Girl
The Mask: Act 1
Start Location: GUARDIANS Colony 5th Floor: GUARDIANS HQ (Speak to Mina).
End Location: Mizuraki CD: Base D.

A small field training mission at the beginning of which you are presented with your own set of Goggles. You are tasked with locating (using the Goggles) five SEED-infected plant forms within a fairly small map of the Mizuraki Conservation District. Your final rank is based upon killing all creatures (30%) and time taken to complete (70%). As the mission ends once you scan the 5th plant, if you want to get an S rank on this mission, you need to skip the first plant you see as three enemies spawn in that area once the gate on the left is opened from the other side.
colspan=2|10 PA Frag

Following this trial you are treated to a boss fight that is generally considered more "fun" than "challenging". After this, there is a short amount of dialog before another, slightly tougher, boss fight. The surrounding dialog sets the scene for the second act of this chapter.

The Mask: Act 2
Start Location: Mizuraki CD: Base D / Mountain Area.
End Location: GUARDIANS Colony 5th Floor: GUARDIANS HQ.

A somewhat more challenging mission. Without giving anything away, this mission centers around chasing through the forests of Neudaiz while using your Goggles to avoid a myriad of traps that have been set in your path.

This trial first appeared incredibly difficult - people dashing through and scoring times of 3:25 were getting under 300 points and a C-Rank. For a long time it was believed that you received a stiff penalty every time Laia Martinez was hit. In actual fact the slope of this mission is just incredibly fierce - if you fail to meet the S-Rank time by 10 seconds or more you will get a C-Rank.

colspan=2|10 PA Frag

Upon successful completion of this trial, you are presented with some dialog and then a short supply of irritating enemies. Following this, your character is introduced to a surprising new foe in a boss fight that focuses more on survival than victory. Once that is over, there is a lengthy period of resolution and closure to the chapter.

Chapter 2: Desert's End
Desert's End: Act 1
Start Location: GUARDIANS Colony 5th Floor: GUARDIANS HQ (Speak to Mina).
End Location: East Kugu Desert: Base E

While not necessarily challenging, this mission is quite lengthy. There are two quite sizeable blocks in this trial.

In the first you are sent back and forth to open laser fences in order to progress, passing through many visible explosion traps. In the second there are "secret" areas that at first appear to be bordered off by fences but have gaps near the walls to allow you through. These areas contain no monsters, but 3~4 boxes, which seem to contain nothing better than usual box drops. However these "secret" areas also contain unique invisible floor traps that keep you stunned for a few seconds before detonation.

Without giving away too much, this will also be the first mission in which you face monsters not on their home planet. This is also the first story mission that contains Megid, though it is early on in the mission and scarce.

colspan=2|10 PA Frag

After this mission you get a short and easy "boss" fight which is more dialog than combat. You then progress to the interval lobby between this chapter's acts.

Desert's End: Act 2
Start Location: East Kugu Desert: Base E Coal Mine
End Location: GUARDIANS Colony 5th Floor: GUARDIANS HQ.

There is a considerable amount of "free" fighting that takes place at the start of this mission. Once you reach a certain destination, you get treated to a little more dialog and finally the trial begins.

The trial part of this act is the shortest trial in the Network Story Missions. The dialog dictates that speed is essential and for once the trial actually reflects this - you do not need to kill enemies that are not deliberately barring your way! This is useful knowledge because without knowing this an S-Rank time is probably impossible.

The rewards for this are suitably low, but it's worth mentioning that you still receive 10 PA Fragments for the first S-Rank on A. These are largely believed to be the easiest 10 PA Fragments earned in Phantasy Star Universe. Additionally, upon completion of this trial, players can use Party -> Abandon Mission to return to the interval lobby and restart the trial to earn a surprisingly good amount of mission points solo.

colspan=2|10 PA Frag

Immediately following this trial you get "treated" to a boss fight of impressive difficulty, considering the battle is essentially fought solo.

Chapter 3: HIVE Clean-up
HIVE Clean-up: Act 1
The trial found in this act is much like that of the first in chapter 2, with similar blocks and enemy counts. However the time limits for each performance rank are noticeably longer than those of chapter 2 act 1. This can be placed almost solely on the fact that this trial is heavy in a particular enemy that is of particular difficulty even in parties, that is found in packs during this mission.

These articles are meant more for description and detail than recommendations, but it needs to be said that due to the nature, resistances and abilities of these particular enemies, the ability to attack effectively while moving is almost essential if you desire to S-Rank this trial, particularly on A level difficulty.

Finally, though the mission details and the dialog does not explicitly state that all enemies need killing to complete the mission, should you skip any enemies, you are told that there are still some remaining.
HIVE Clean-up: Act 2
Start Location: [Possible Spoilers, highlight:] HIVE Laia / Central Control Room Area
The trial this act begins with is somewhat interesting: You do not need to get to a "finishing point" and you do not need to wipe out enemies. Instead there are five switches with countdown timers that you must all activate before one of them runs out of time (at which point it deactivates). You can also choose to leave your NPC party member at a switch to keep it activated permanently.

There are monsters in this mission - and of particular importance is the Megid that some can fire - and these monsters do need to be killed in order to progress. However they are not the focus of the mission as there are so few: This is primarily a "puzzle" mission.

The map is circular in nature; travel anticlockwise from your starting point until you return to it. The key to S-ranking this mission under any difficulty is to complete one "lap" wiping out the monsters, and then on the second "lap" activate all the switches, making sure to leave your NPC party member at the correct one. You'll want to leave them at the southeastern switch, and then work your way around the block in a anticlockwise fashion, moving to the eastern switch, then the northern, followed by the northwestern and finally western switches.

As with Chapter 3 Act 1, there are no bosses for this act.

Shadow Conspiracy 2
Start Location: G. Colony: Access Passage Res. Block
End Location: GUARDIANS Colony 5th Floor: GUARDIANS HQ.

This mission is partially puzzle. Akin to 3-2 in that there are monsters which only need killing for the sake of progressing through the map, there are more monsters in this trial.

This is also the first story trial in which you are required to finish within a time limit - You have 15 minutes to identify and free six targets. To do this you will make use of your Goggles. Two things are worth immediate note about these targets: The first is that you cannot affect them with TECHNICs or Ranged Weaponry (there is however a Saber in a box at the start of the mission in the event that players have none). The second is that they do not show up on a Goggles scan until all the monsters in the room are dead.

The performance rank on this mission is given by how much time you had remaining when you completed the mission. It is worth noting that during the loading screens and dialog presented for each target, the timer is still counting down, so haste during the dialog is recommended.

Following this mission you are faced with some dialog, another two blocks of monster hunting, and then some final dialog to close the mission. There is no boss for this act (or for the entire chapter), but the final spawns of the non-trial battle are of notable difficulty.

New User, Please Help W/ Rare Monsters Chart
I'm not exactly sure how this site works, so if someone sees this and can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

Anyways, I'm having some issues understand how to use the Rare Monsters charts. there's A-1 through A-X etc., and Block 1-3 First Spawns listed for each area. Here's what I am trying to figure out.

Let's use Sleeping Warriors, Left Stairs Route, for an example.

~~ For A-1 "Block 1 - Block 3 First Spawn", what does that mean? Does it mean something like, "first spawn in first room" for Block 1, then "first spawn for 2nd room", and "first spawn for 3rd room"?
:I thought that this referred to the first spawns in first room with enemies in Block 1, first spawns in first room with enemies in Block 2, and first spawns in first room with enemies in Block 3. --Seikas2 17:16, 1 January 2007 (CST)

~~ For the A-1 through A-X then, I understand they are different variations, but do you have to get A-X, B-X, and C-X to get rare enemies? Or let's say you get A-X on Block 1 of your run or even Block 2 of your run, theoretically you should automatically get Rappies just because A-X was your Block 1? Or like I said, do you need multiple Block-X's?
:The different A-, B-, and C- layouts are different map orders for the entire mission, with -1, -2, -3, and -X as different patterns of monster spawns. That is, if you don't encounter the "Block 1 First Spawn" in Block 1, "Block 2 First Spawn" in Block 2 and so on for an -X pattern, you probably won't encounter rare monsters. --Seikas2 17:16, 1 January 2007 (CST)

Please let me know, so I can edit the Rare Monsters chart accordingly. I have some variations not posted.
For block 2 of valley of carnage, the enemies listed need to have a sword and shield icon. Also, it needs to spawn as 3 Vanda, and then 2 more, and then 2 more. All with sword and shield.

Para: I think I know what distinguishes some of the B-X from B-1s... Double check the spawn on the right hand side of the B-2 T split path. I've seen Delsabens spawn there first rather than 5x Pannons and didn't get rappies.
Unsafe Passage B-X
So will the first spawn of block 1 only have 3 pannons and no respawns? I'm sort of confused.

-Can someone Answer this, im confused on this one also.

-Yeah B is a little unclear with the spawns. 3 of the variants start with 3 pannons.

--I spent a while doing LL runs and finally figured out the B-set of maps. B-X is annoying to identify. First, if you go into the first room and there are three pannons, you're on a good start. Kill them, more will spawn. Go to the back part of the room (around the corner but not through the door); if delsabans spawn, you have the wrong set. If it's more pannons, you are in either B-X or B-1. Unfortunately, the block two spawns are the same, so you have to go to block three. But you can skip the enemies down the right path in Block 2.

--All right, I've been running B in Unsafe passage, and am getting the B-1/X variant. Anyhow, just had a question on the block one spawn set. Are we sure that after the three Pannons that there are SIX pannons in the second set? Here's what I mean: http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=4640061 I've seen five pannon spawn there multiple times. If that's not the right spawn, disregard this post. ;3 Fence! 21:16, 29 January 2007 (CST)
It would help keep the discussion more organized, and would allow for more space to better explain the intricacies of each rare pattern, consequently reducing silly errors and misunderstandings such as this. --Qwerty 06:44, 27 March 2007 (BST)
VoC woes
Para from HongFire.com says: I just tested the Jao C-X spawn pattern and it didn't give me a Jao.. needs more testing and another confirmation?

--Are you sure you didn't get C-1? It seems like Sega made one spawn pattern for each map almost identical to the rare spawn pattern. I've been trying to get Jaos too, and have had no luck either.

No I didn't get C-1. I counted the Vandas and they added up to the C-X spawn number.

-- I think the C-1 spawn count for block 2 might be wrong. I've never seen 3-3 spawn before, always 3-2-2, and I've never seen Jaos spawn. Also, it seems all the other block 2's that spawn with vandas first spawn 3-2-2, never 3-3.

Para: I just got another C-X spawn type with no Jao. I believe the current article on C-X is definitely incorrect and someone needs to determine the right one. It could be possible that the 3-3 Vanda Spawn in Block 2 is the real C-X?

Para: Hmm I just had a spawn today that was C-X and it had Jaggos... There must be something else that can distinguish between the two...

--If thats the case, and there *is* a 3-3 Vanda spawn in Block two of the C map set, then there are more than 3 mundane maps

+If you track the actual creature spawns, you will find that there are two different spawn sets that have a total of 7 vandas - there is the elusive 3-2-2 spawn set, and there is a 3-3-1 spawn set. The best way to tell which one you are getting is to make sure you kill all the vandas on each set at the same time. The issue is that if you don't kill them at the same time, they spawn at varying intervals making it difficult to distinguish what pattern you are getting.

**Does the A-X map work for VoC or is it broken? I finally gave up on C-X as I got the 3-2-2 spawn many times without any Jaos.

I did the C-X with the 3-2-2 spawn many times and didn't see an jaggos. My character is level 60 so 99 % of the time I killed the 3 first vanda at the same time, then two spawn and then 2 more and no Jaggo at all. I've been trying it for many days now and didn't see any jaggo with that map
. If possible, I would like clarification on the C map. I see no difference in c-1 and c-x by the way, both show 3 jisharaga in the first block and then 3 vanda with sword and shield, 2 vanda with sword and shield + 2 vanda with sword and shield in block 2

Are the S rank layouts for rare monsters the same as A-X? These punks keep escaping me on S. >:

*The A/B/C don't refer to the rank of the mission you are playing, they refer to the layout. For example, VoC A1/2/3/X all have the Left Gate route as the first block. VoC B1/2/3/X all have the Northeast Route as the first block. Hope that helps you understand. Umberger 21:11, 3 January 2007 (CST)
Here it is folks..
C1 and CX are identical up until a particular sequence in Block 2.
First get to block 2 with the Vanda 3-2-2 sequence. (if you get the 3-3-1 sequence you will not find the jao)
The difference isn't until you pass the gate.
Pass the gate, go down the hill and kill the 2 Kog Nodds.
4 Vanda's will now spawn
:::THIS IS WHERE THE DIFFERENCE IS:::
Two different things can happen...

Number 1: Once all 4 Vandas (withOUT shield and sword icons) are killed one more Vanda will spawn, then lapuchas. No Jao's will spawn in this map.

Number 2: Once a single Vanda is killed, more Vanda's will spawn, then more.(i'm not sure of the number because it's been so few times I've found it (only 4)) Once all the Vandas are killed, the jao's will spawn.

Im not sure if those 4 Vandas have the sword and shield icons when the jao's spawn, I'll have to re-post after the next time I find the jao. I wasn't paying attention the first 4 times I found them (probably because I was excited)

I hope this helps.
PS. I do have one relaxing jao in my room ;)--Ren 14:05, 4 January 2007 (CST)

This is also true with B1 and BX. These two are also identical until the second room in block two.

I started hunting for jaggos again since the jaggo amure came out and I have to say that, at least since friday, the second block with a spawn of 3-3-1 is right. I saw the jaggos quite a few times since friday, twice a day to be exact, and all of these were with the 3-3-1 spawn. I am 100% sure of this since, I am level 71, I do that on C rank, I use a spear with dus robaddo to kill the first 3, it kills all 3 at once, and 3 more spawn right after, then one more.

Do not neglect the infos post by Ren above me though, since this is also a requirement.

Since there seams to always be a problem with the second block, I would personally suggest getting the first block right and once you have that, go to the end, no matter what. I always do this and saw quite a few jaggo even before the jaggo amure.
On which map variation was this? C? I did VoC a few times today and noticed that the A-1 and B-1 Block 2 spawns were incorrect for the first set of Vandas (The chart now shows the correct spawns). They were both 3-3-1, with no Jaggos. I'm going to assume that means it's the 3-2-2 spawn that determines if it is a rare variation or not for A and B. * Okay, the spawn for A-1 is Vanda x3, Jishigara x1+1. That can be easily seen by anyone. The A-X spawn according to the JP wiki and us (before people took to quietly changing it) was said to be Vanda x3, Jishigara x2. The trouble is now people are sneakily changing this to match the A-1 spawn without any citation, which is troubling considering it goes against the JP data and what we thought we knew already. I'm not sure about C-X but B-X worked for me, took about 3 hours of hunting but i finally encountered rappies and orgdus once... yes the majority of the time the badira x3 at the bottom of the steps was what went wrong with the runs but it is possible. I'm not sure if the luck of leader has to do anything with it, the leader in my party had 3 luck at the time but that culd just be a coincidence. I have yet to find C-X, i always get a polyvohra at bottom of steps instead of 3 badira, but that doesn't mean the chart is wrong, it just means you gotta keep trying. I'm too am trying to figure out the spawns for A-X, i just try and keep a mental note of spawns and if i run into ogdus i'll write it down and post them on here.

i updated A-x but the second room info is missing. i am also not sure if the first room spawns are the only possibility. but rappies did spawn when the polvora was down the stairs, that part is certain.
One of the rare patterns for Mad Creatures
I posted a thread about it over on PSO-World, but being on 360, I can't exactly take pictures. I'd really appreciate if one of you PC guys (or girls) would be able to take some pictures and/or add it to the list. Anyway, here's my post:

It's the one where you go forward and there's that natural ramp (and 2 haystacks off to the right of it), and the first spawn is 2 Poltys (Polties?), then 3 of them which gives you a key to open the gate, then Vahras when you go down the next natural ramp.

Block 2...sorry I don't remember the first spawn, I think it was Poltys, but anyway...it's the block where if you go straight, there's a cave where you can take a left or go straight to get items. In there, 4 Distovas spawn. If you take a left in that cave, go up back onto the ground, and there's your Rappy spawn! 4 of them.

I'm sorry if it's confusing, and I really would try to get pictures of the blocks, but I'm on 360 and much too lazy to take a picture with a digital camera or something.
Yes the patter for C-X is poltys in block 1, then poltys in block 2 followed by 4 Koltovas inside the cave, the table now shows this.
Sleeping Warriors Updated
I've been keeping a very close watch to find the exact spawns for EVERY enemy in the Rare Monster rotations for Sleeping Warriors...

I have Long Hall and Left Stairways done, but I noticed on the site here "Block 3 First Spawn for A-X" was incorrect. The First spawn is actually 3 Golmoro's, and 2 Badira. Also, there were 3 Badira in the box to the right at the beginning of Block 3. I know this because I JUST got the map rotation done about 3 minutes ago.

So yeah... Basically I am looking for differences in spawns that occur in the first block between the "X" runs and the others that have identical first spawns. As of right now, if I can test this tonight, there should be a way to tell right away instead of doing an entire block... I think I may have found a difference in Block 1 Long Hall that will tell you within the first 2 minutes. I will give more information when I can guarantee it.
Hello,

I am doing Sleeping Warriors S runs for finding the Rare map the last 3 Days.

what I found out:

1. it is easiest if you only fight when you get the "Long Hall route" because you can check if there are the 3 Badiras downstairs at Block 2 within 6-7 Minutes(I am doing alone so I am not that fast).

So I only did the Long Hall Route over and Over...

I got around 5x the Rare map now. (average is every 2-3 Hours one Raremap) but not even one Power Charge dropped ^^ (15x Ordgus = 8x Meseta 7x Goldania ^^) I will keep on doing. But anyone found out if it has something to do with the first spawn? I forgot to pay attention, but the First Badiras at the Rare map I think are different:

Average is: 6 -> 3 -> 1
But I also saw:
6 -> 4 -> 2
6 -> 2 -> 1

same with the 2nd Badiras. behind the 2x Golmoro Spawns past Gate at Block 1

everytime I had Raremap, there were 3 Additional spawns at the last Badiras in Block 1.

if anyone gets more Information about Sleeping Warriors Raremap:

Don't remember the b2 and b3 first spawns though :\ Starrz 17:10, 24 April 2007 (BST)
Endrum Remnants..
Keep reloading untill you git the layout where you start behind a door with the crystal. If you get Bamaltas in the first room you're good so far... On block two run accross the bridge. If Buggy's appear START OVER, If you're lucky enough there will be Seekers and special opps on the other side of the bridge. If there is you have the rare layout. After that point you will notice RED bugs that drop florecent bulb boards, and the bosses will also be RED Grinna Beta S. I've gotten this layout a couple times but no drops (other than crappy 2* sniper) so far..

Neudaiz
Does anybody have any correct layouts for any of the missions on Neudaiz?

I found Rappies on Mizuraki Defense on the route without monsters/boxes. You turn and go through a door and another door before fighting monsters. On this route there were 4 Rappies at the end. I believe the Olgohmans were the first spawn of Block 1. I did not concentrate enough to capture Block 2 or 3.

*Update* I'm no longer confident that Olgohmons is the correct 1st spawn for route 1. :-(
Route 1: Path to the left (no boxes) has either rappies x4 or rappies x3.
For Rainbow Beast, on the first map in the cave, when u run past the Goshins you'll find 4 ollakas. That indicates if you have a rare map. If its 4 ageetas then it's not the right map.--Wild Goose 10:59, 27 March 2007 (BST)
Overhaul Needed?
* A couple of things in this article bother me quite a bit:
** "B1 First Spawn", "B2 First Spawn", "B3 First Spawn" are not sufficient to well-determine rare spawns. For many missions the first time you can tell the difference is mid-way through B1 or B2. Wouldn't it be best to add a field for "First time you can tell if the map is rare or not" ?
** The terminology! If a spawn is three Pannon and two Delsaban, followed by two more Pannon (each spawning as one other enemy dies), then "Delsaban x2 + Pannon x3 + Pannon x2" doesn't accurately describe what spawns when. I believe we should move towards a standard terminology so that such mixups cannot occur.
* Thoughts? - Miraglyth 09:22, 25 March 2007 (BST)
* This would be a lot of work, but I think it would be best to dedicate an individual article to each missions. This would allow us more freedom for explaning things, without worrying about screwing up the semi-consistent tabular system we've got in place currently. I agree though, about the "first spawn" being inconvenient. I just ran a bunch of Fight For Food S2, and in many variants, the only way to tell if it will be rare if the first and last spawn of a certain block are the same enemy. Devoting an article for the rare spawn variants of each mission would allow us to explain these and other nuances more clearly without having a big cluttered mess, which is what we already have anyway. --Qwerty 09:32, 25 March 2007 (BST)
Valley of Carnage needs work!
I have been running VoC all night on S-Rank, and everytime I run the "correct possible map" I have gotten the 3x Vanda(**) + 2x Vanda(**) + 2x Vanda (**). Can anyone confirm these are correct, or should we be looking for 3x + 3x + 1x? I'm aware that you will know if you got the right one near the end of Block 2 depending on how the Vanda's spawn, but has anyone looked into anything else yet? I'm working on it myself, but I can't prove/disprove anything without getting a correct run.

Also, didn't we used to have the correct maps for Mine Defense or System Defense? I swear we had more than VoC, but everything has been wiped clean?

Are there any maps on anyone's wish list? I'm going to be just level bullets soon when I switch to Ranger classes, so I could start working on another map if some of you have suggestions as to what people are looking for. Thanks --Shadow Hado
Valley of Carnage C-X Confirmed
I returned to Valley of Carnage two nights ago and finally got Jaggos. C-1 and C-X as far as I could tell were completely identical, for EVERY enemy spawn. I had already written out the exact spawn of C-1, and when I get C-X the only way I knew was when I got to the end of block 2. After the 2x Kog Nadd, the 4x Vanda spawn. If you kill one and more show, you got Jaggo's. This was already written earlier in the discussion, but I wanted to confirm that there is NO POSSIBLE WAY to know if you have Jaggo's until then. I even tried watch formations, but they're always the same. Shadow Hado

Just a small note. When the Jaggo's will appear.. there are actually 5 Vandas that spawn after the 2 Kog Nadds in the second room in block 2, not 4 Vandas. So, if you see 5, your good to go.. if only 4.. you wont see them.--Ren 18:06, 9 April 2007 (BST)
Black Heart Spawn?
I've read around this wonderful site for information on the Black Heart item, and it seems Deljabans drop them. I've also found the spawn set for them for Dark Satellite and the following mission ((Total brainfart...)) and was wondering if there was a spawn group in the middle of one of the blocks that triggered one of the Deljabans to drop the Black Heart? There are rumors about how if one of the blocks has seven total monsters in each room, you get a Black Heart drop. BUT, seeing as how it's a rumor, I've come here for proof. * Around boxing day (timezone dependant?) there was a brief maintenance which removed all lobby "Christmas" decorations, the variety shop Christmas theme and Wreath decoration, and presumably reverted Rappy Noel back to standard Rappy. It also added the "Bamboo" room decoration (and maybe other stuff?), so should it constitute as an update? It's a notable change to the game so it really should be mentioned somehow in this article, no? - Miraglyth 12:08, 28 December 2006 (CST)
It also didn't seem (the resolution was rather low, so it is hard to say for certain) to take away any HP initially, but rather hit the caster 2-3 times for moderate damage shortly after the casting. Also, judging by the videos I have seen (I may be wrong, since I don't actually have the game), it seems that the "winged-foot" icon we are using for Zodial actually belongs to the "Static Status" category, as the symbol I have observed for Zodial looks identical to the other buffs (i.e. up arrow), but is white in color. *The icon marked as "Paralysis" is actually Sleep's. The icon for paralysis is quite similar to PSO's. Sleep itself actually seems to be a side effect of a light-elemental attack technique that, curiously enough, isn't Regrants (Agata Relics enemies, specifically). Has anyone experimented offline with light elemental bullets to see if they cause sleep as well? ** Hmm, thanks for letting us know. As for your question about light elemental bullets, I am 95% sure they cause Confusion and nothing else. Each of the 6 elemental bullets seems to have only one status effect attached, and the 7th and 8th bullets allow penetration and rapid fire respectively, if I have my facts right. Mewn
** Yohmei 1-handed Daggers occasionally inflict Sleep, while Bysha Type-Koas from Grove of Fanatics inflict Paralysis. One could possibly get the pictures from those two sources. FenixStryk

* I think this should be added. Status effects can only be inflicted, if the thing causing it does damage. Therefore, if a bullet does 0 damage, the intended status effect will never happen. Same goes for TECHNICs, in that if a barta does 0 damage, you will never freeze. This is beneficial, because those of us who have tried synthesizing armors with high dark element (like me <_<), it's to negate the damage done by megid, in turn nullifying its status effect of instant kill.
