<font color="red">Red: Online specific information.</font><br /><font color="blue">Blue: Offline specific information.</font>

Partner Machineries (パートナーマシナリー), or PMs (パシリ) for short, are floating pet robots, and can be found in the player's room. In Story Mode, Ethan's PM is called 'Pete', but in Extra Mode and Network Mode players are able to choose and change their PM's names. A PM's Luck is equal to that of Female Cast characters.

PMs have several functions, including:
* Item Storage (~300 items)
* Item Synthesis
* Engaging in combat as a sidekick (fourth-stage only)
* Providing plot information and hints (Story Mode)
* Shopkeeper (Online)

PMs have specific attributes, as well:
* Striking - indicates the profiency in synthesizing Melee Weapons
* Ranged - indicates the profiency in synthesizing Ranged Weapons
* Technic - indicates the profiency in synthesizing Casting Weapons
* Armor - indicates the profiency in synthesizing Armors
* Production Level (max. 100) - the sum of the four attributes above; PM evolution occurs as the Production Level rises
* Battle Stat (B St.) or Combat Level (max. 100) - dictates a PM's efficiency in combat (presumably only AI and chat lines?); the increments for its EXP bar increase upon Mission completion, depending only on the overall resultant rank.

* S rank: about 25% (from 0% into a level, four S Ranks are not enough for one level. It's probably 24%.)
* A rank: about 15%
* B rank: about 10%
* C rank: about 5%

To increase those first four attributes, PMs can be fed items, via the "Give item" submenu of Partner Machinery Functions. PM Feeding (called that due to the PM commenting how the item tasted) is subject to some simple constraints:

* If you feed a PM one item, its "fed" count raises by 1.
* Once a PM's "fed" count reaches 100 it becomes "full" and you cannot feed it any more.
* If a PM has not been fed for 12 hours ("full" or not), its "fed" count gets reset to 0.

Partner Machinery will refuse to eat Synthesis Boards, Grinders and Presents. When the Production Level reaches a designated point, the PM will "evolve" into a new form that varies according to the individual attributes that contribute to the Production Level. These distinct PM evolutions each specialize either in Striking, Range or Technic; there are none that specialize in Armor. Battle-usable evolutions have associated combat behaviour and equipment. Not much is known about their combat stats, other than that they are dependent on the PM's form and Combat Level.

Only the leader of a party may summon his or her battle-usable PM to combat. The PM is capable of taking damage and dying like any ordinary player as well as reducing final trial rewards through death. PMs affect experience gain in combat in the same way ordinary players do. The PM has no means of healing itself outside of Force spells, area affect items and returning to town. Battle-usable PM's have the luck score of a female cast.

The item PM Device ZERO is used to reset each of the PM's stats to zero. Although the PM will reset its level and any advanced form will be lost, the storage remains unaffected.

Fourth-Stage PMs
When PMs evolve to their fourth stage, they will become usable in battle and will grant their owner their own Partner Card to call upon them at anytime. In any party only the PM of the leader may participate. Like NPCs, PMs will automatically revive in a minute, but unfortunately their deaths affects Mission results nonetheless. In battle, a PM is always ten levels higher than their owner's this increases, they will become more powerful like regular characters would. A PM's Production Level and Striking, Ranged, Armor and Technic stats do not have any influence on this.
Combat behaviour
; Calculating
*Based on the GH-440, the PM will 'take aim' at a target and attack after a short delay. It is unclear whether this 'aiming' increases accuracy or not, or whether the time taken is reduced as the PM levels.
*According to my experiences with a GH-420, The PM will run off on its own if an enemy is
within its sight range. It will also attack enemies if the enemy attacks her..
~Thanks to Lunatari (Xbox 360) and Mia (Xbox 360) for spotting this out with there GH-420 (Rabbit! and -) ^_^
; Support
*According to my experience with a GH-450, It will support the party by casting Jellen numerous
times.It will also cast resta for the master unlike other NPC.
~Thanks to Tahldon (Xbox 360) for letting me view his GH-450 (Hina Ichigo) ^_^
; With group
*According to my experiences with a GH-430, "with group" means it fights the same monster
as you do (mainly you can just hit the monster once and it will chase after it) and or your
alternate NPC (2nd NPC if added)
; With owner
*According to my experiences with a GH-410, the PM will stay by your side until a enemy is
within its striking distance. Great for shielding because if the enemy approaches you,
your PM will fight it.
Newly Available PMs
There are currently 18 PM evolutions, linked to 'PM Evolution Devices'. For example, using a 'PM 411 Device' on a GH410 will evolve the PM into the corresponding evolution. Details about GH305~7 and GH461~5 are still unclear.

Both the JP and US/EU versions of the game has the Partner Machine Evolution Kits available. But only for the 4x1(411,421,431,441,451) and 4x2(412,422,432,442,452) types,unfortunately. No information on the 46x types, yet.

The New PMs change in appearance and weapon, some featuring S rank weapons as well! Great for those with an acquired taste for expensive items,others will just get plain jealous.

Some of the alternate PM actually carry SUV weapons!! Each one features an extra slot but only certain few will get the SUV while some for example, will get HP regeneration(Me/Hp Restore).We have yet to cover on this so come back often for more details.

STA
* This page seems to be lacking anything about status resistance. I know stamina is a determining factor, but what about MST or DFP, or armor rank? Does anyone actually know what determines whether or not you get a status? Or how about the odds of inflicting a status on an enemy? I know that varies by ranged weapon type and bullet/TECHNIC level. At the very least, I think a link to the STA page would be appropriate.
* I think little research has been done on this, so noone really knows the exact formulas between the status effects and STA... - Tycho 10:03, 15 December 2006 (PST)

* I noticed the status effects page here was still using Shifta/Deband/Jellen/Zalure, so I went ahead and fixed that. Hope I got all the Wiki markup stuff right. *shrug* --Qwerty 13:14, 17 September 2006 (PDT)
* Thanks, sorry it was left like this. ~_~ Tycho
* Being a FO is going to be fun now. Instead of 'GIVE S/D NOW' it's going to be 'GIVE A/D/Z/R/M NOW'. Thanks for fixing the names, Qwerty. Mewn
* It's not that bad, when they want it, they'll just ask you to suicide for them, the dark boosting spell does everything while sacrificing the caster's life. Ok ok, HP.

* Yes, but judging by a video I saw on Youtube the other day (sorry, I'll try to find the link again later), Megistal will only affect the caster, and it gives Agtal, Defbal, Retial, and Zodial. It also didn't seem (the resolution was rather low, so it is hard to say for certain) to take away any HP initially, but rather hit the caster 2-3 times for moderate damage shortly after the casting. Also, judging by the videos I have seen (I may be wrong, since I don't actually have the game), it seems that the "winged-foot" icon we are using for Zodial actually belongs to the "Static Status" category, as the symbol I have observed for Zodial looks identical to the other buffs (i.e. up arrow), but is white in color. == Icon Corrections ==

* Judging by this video, the yellow up arrow is for Zodial (the picture name here was even evadeup), which means the Retial icon must be the white arrow. --Qwerty
* Right. - Tycho

*The icon marked as "Paralysis" is actually Sleep's. The icon for paralysis is quite similar to PSO's. Sleep itself actually seems to be a side effect of a light-elemental attack technique that, curiously enough, isn't Regrants (Agata Relics enemies, specifically). Has anyone experimented offline with light elemental bullets to see if they cause sleep as well? Also, I suggest renaming the "static status effect" section to as "enemy variations" or something along those lines. The monster itself has a different appearance that reflect these extra advantages it possesses. 71.55.54.138 09:05, 7 October 2006 (PDT)
** Hmm, thanks for letting us know. As for your question about light elemental bullets, I am 95% sure they cause Confusion and nothing else. Each of the 6 elemental bullets seems to have only one status effect attached, and the 7th and 8th bullets allow penetration and rapid fire respectively, if I have my facts right. Mewn
** Yohmei 1-handed Daggers occasionally inflict Sleep, while Bysha Type-Koas from Grove of Fanatics inflict Paralysis. One could possibly get the pictures from those two sources. FenixStryk
0 = 0
* I think this should be added. Status effects can only be inflicted, if the thing causing it does damage. Therefore, if a bullet does 0 damage, the intended status effect will never happen. Same goes for TECHNICs, in that if a barta does 0 damage, you will never freeze. This is beneficial, because those of us who have tried synthesizing armors with high dark element (like me <_<), it's to negate the damage done by megid, in turn nullifying its status effect of instant kill. == First-person view waver when Confused ==

* Something to possibly append to the effects on Confuse- much like PSO, movement becomes randomized, but FPS view isn't- instead, you get some heavy-duty view wavering, but not enough that it's impossible to aim. From my experience, the most inaccurate time is as soon as it wears off, because you're suddenly not correcting for anything. Not sure if this merits actually adding to the table, or if it's covered under 'controls become erratic'. JhonenSantos 20:18, 18 January 2007 (CST)

Melee Weapons or Monomates?
*Irovax: Why is the best thing to feed a Striking PM 1* Weapons? Wouldn't it be Monomates, since weapons cost 350 and Monomates cost 50? Or are they taking the TECHNIC into account? Personally, I'd want my PM to become battle ready as soon as possible...
* Yeah, that's for pure Striking. If all you care about is getting it to L80 ASAP, you're probably best off buying Monomates en masse. Or, if you don't have the cash and are okay with an Armor PM (if you're a HU 440 might not be such a bad choice in battle), you could even use Cast Parts of newly chreated characters or something. - Tycho

Content Corrections/Clarifications
*Keldog: Can someone verify that the PM Evolution chart is correct for the fourth stage evolution stat reqirements (i.e. "Ranged <= 30", etc.). Seems like those should be greater than symbols (>) instead of less than (<).
* I think you got confused; they do not contain 'less than or equal to' signals at all. The signs used are 'greater than or equal to' and 'less than' (= evolutions you get when the requirements for the former aren't met). I hope that would answer your question. - Tycho
* cast parts reduce mind
* Why are 1* units recommended over CAST parts? They seem to be more expensive and less effective.
* Faster than recreating ad infinitum; either way works though. - Tycho
* For the GH-420 model (claws), it takes Striking below lv 30 and Ranged above lv 30. ^^ --Shioki
* In the picture of all the GH-44x PMs, 443 is shown as being a Laser Cannon type, with 444 as a Launcher type. The guide to their weapon types did not match the screenshot. This has been corrected.
* Can someone post a slightly clearer description of what each 'personality' type does on the LV80 evolutions? 'Independent' and 'Near Master' are pretty self-explanatory, but what exactly is 'Calculating' supposed to mean? JhonenSantos 11:21, 11 December 2006 (PST)
A PM in battle section is needed
Would answer questions like.
1. Can 440 use technics.
2. Can the armor stat be ignored or is it suicide to go pure 100 stat.
3. How much control you have over the PM.
* About #2, I'm not too sure, but it seems that even with pure 100 striking, the GH410 takes only average damage. It's probably dependent only on class/type of PM.
* About #3, it seems like they act like normal NPCs of their class, i.e. not very much control, other than just following you closely. Seikas2 01:32, 12 November 2006 (PST)
*snip Main Paged Seikas2 06:51, 15 November 2006 (PST)
* Well, it did need something like this. I should still check up on the Japanese description of 450 though; forgot if it mentioned her fire specialism, and thought it might be useful to include element info. I like how you made the behaviour patterns more apparent using the colouring schedule. I'm still wondering about what's with 440 though. Anyway, for now the primary concern regarding PMs is probably rather the Battle Stat stuff, and synthesis influences.

Battle stat (B St)
In the battle stat section, we read "Battle Stat (B St.) or Combat Level (max. 100) - dictates a PM's stats in combat and increases overall synthesis proficiency;".

I'm pretty sure the first part, about combat stats is a given, but then the second fact, about B St affecting overall synthesis proficiency, is this really proven? Almost seems like its a recent addition, especially how its inserted into the existing context about your PM fighting with you

* Not proven; I'll add a question mark or something. - Tycho 15:46, 1 December 2006 (PST)

Recent edit
* Leveling PMs by letting them synth stuff? This doesn't make sense. I'll use a rollback. o_O - Tycho 08:31, 11 December 2006 (PST)
* I think what was meant by this is to synth items used for feeding, like say a 2★ saber to increase Strike, or guns, wands, or trimates, etc, while collecting more items during missions to synth even more feedables. --Mega 09:24, 11 December 2006 (PST)
